just this week i've been trying to drink natural tea because of its health benefits. i drink my tea straight up. so far i've only tried 2 types of teas. one of it tasted okay but the other is a little bitter for me. im trying to look for other ones that i will at least buy again. so if you can, can please tell me which natural tea tastes okay, and not bitter, before the additives? if you dont know of any good straight up ones, than can you tell me any ones you like?

I like any brand of Orange Pekoe/Pekoe Cut Black Tea (Red Rose for example - but store brands are good, as well). This one has a naturally sweet flavor so it doesn't need anything added to make it nice. Most green teas are good, too. I prefer the ones without lemon. Oolong is also a very good tea and is what is served in many Chinese restaurants. I like all of these teas hot or cold.

if you can, please include the teas that you tried...it may be able to help some of us answer your question. And it may help us recommend some good ones for you.

When I first started drinking tea, I liked Celestial Seasonings a lot. I assume you don't mind tea bags. I liked the Authentic Green Tea, and Tazo has china Green tips which are also good. As far as black teas go, lots of people like Lipton, or PG tips.

If you are experiencing bitterness, try steeping the tea in cooler water, and/or try decreasing the steeping time by a minute or so. Bitterness is usually associated with tea that's been steeped too long or in too high a temperature. good luck.
