I just got into college, the food here is really unhealthy, I was 220 now I am around 240. I really do not want to go back to being fat(even 220 is not so thin). I do not have a lot of time to work out. Can someone tell me a way that will help me to loss weight efficiently?

It's all about calories. If you don't know your calories, pick up a paperback on calories at any drug, book, or health food store. MOVE as much as you can. Cut out all sugar and desserts, and cut out junk food. Eat fruits and veggies and skinless chicken, fish, and drink lots of water! Read labels, and start with 1500 calories a day. Good luck, kiddo!!

Well, for starters, you should help others around you in the same situation by complaining about the food to an apporopriate authority, and get the problem fixed. As for weight loss, it's mainly about lifestyle, but there are a few things you can do to help yourself. Go for a short walk whenever you can, and do little things to help you do so. For example, if you drive or take public transport somewhere, park or stop a few streets or blocks away from where you where intending to go, and walk the remaining distance. Don't try and eat less: Just eat healthier. If you can't access any good food at the college itself, try going to a greengrocers or supermarket and purchasing some fruit and vegetables: They're both cheap and healthy. If you can't store them, or if you can't go back for a while, get tinned fruit instead, such as sliced pinapple. Good luck.

Well, naturally in college you are probably trying to keep a budget. But if money is not an issue, I would definitely recommend joining Weight Watchers. You can do their online program and it is awesome. They give you helpful hints on how to "cut corners" in the whole food world. Yes, you will have to keep track of it all, but I know when I was in college, I would get bored in some lectures and you could always journal your food then :) Also, if time is a relative issue, try to do extra things throughout the day. If you have a class that is not on the first floor, take the stairs instead, it will make a difference (not to mention nicer calves and hiney). Or if you normally take the fastest way to class, try speed walking and going a longer route, this way it will not increase the time, but it will increase the amount of physical activity that you get out of it. Little changes definitely add up! Good luck and I know it is not fun or easy!

Eat healthier and exercise. It's really that simple.

College weight gain is notorious... the Freshman 15, 20, 30, etc...

Most colleges give you access to training and recreational facilities. Use them. Most colleges are providing healthier food choices, but quick, convenient, and tasty is still the norm. You do have choices, though you'll have to go a little out of your way to utilize them. Find time, however little that may be, to squeeze in exercise and healthier meals.

It's not going to be the easiest path, but if you want to lose weight, it's the path you need to take. Most shortcuts are either unhealthy, take you back where you started in the end, or both. Health is a lifestyle.

My b/f and I loss some weight by dieting only. We are eating an alkalized diet. It's basically no meat. Lots of friuts and veggies. Most veggies are only slightly blauched or cooked to get the maximum vitamins and minerals. It's very bland but let me tell you, we've been on it only 1 week and b/f lost 13 lbs and I lost 5 lbs. We also juice carrots in the morning and we eat almonds for protein. And all this without working out.

The easiest way I found to lose weight is to eat more vegetables. If you don't have time to cook there a big chance that your still gonna end up eating junk food. But I find that eating vegetables before, helps me digest and evacuate more toxins out of my system. If eating raw veggies is not your thing, I suggest you invest in a juicer and make veggie juice. If you dont like the taste, you can add apples to any juice to make it tasty. Its a good start on weight loss. But eventually, you will have to eat more home cooked meals, and more vegetables.
Good luck!

I know we all get lazy at times. I was once told that while watching tv and a commercial comes on, do some crunches or pushups until your show comes back on. Also, running or any other high impact aerobic exercise is real good for losing those extra pounds. Just take 20 or 30 minutes to go for a jog at least twice a week and you will see a difference.

First everything starts with what you eat. Visit www.mypyramid.gov to see what you should be eating more.Trust me it's going to be a hard transition, but it;s worth it. Take a PE class it's required for you to get at least 1 credit to cover up your GE. Walk at least 20-30 minutes a day. Then when you're used to walking increase your speed and then you'll be running. Cardio is the good for you and a good way and safe to lose weight :) Good Luck :)
