Check with the track on requirements for entering pit road. I know here, short and open toed shoes are not allowed. I would suggest good walking shoes and long pants. Make sure you bring a camera, your going to want lots of pictures.

Charlotte does NOT allow shorts and open-toed shoes in the garage area or on pit road (most tracks don't due to safety concerns/insurance).

The October race at LMS is a mix of hot and cold - last year the daytime was in the mid-80's and it dropped to freezing overnight. A mix of clothing is recommended.

For Pit Road:

I would definitely wear a good pair of walking shoes, some comfortable jeans, probably a T-Shirt or polo with your fav drivers colors and sponsor would be best (almost every one else will be wearing the same). I recommend a ball cap and sunglasses also, as shade is non-existent. Camera and a Sharpie for autographs just in case you see a driver, though they won't be out of their cars too much on pit road - you normally find them out and about in the garage area. Also, I recommend a program, event t-shirt or ball cap for them to sign - I did the ball cap at Martinsville and it made a nice souvenir.

At Night During the Race:

A sweat shirt and jacket, perhaps a toboggan for for your head during the race - it's gonna get cold and then colder - remember, layers are best.

When the cars are running around the track, they cause "the vortex" effect. The air will circulate enough to cause a little bit of a wind chill, so be prepared for the cold. A seat cushion will insulate you from the aluminum seat or concrete. I wouldn't bring a blanket as they aren't really best for sitting on due to spilled drinks, etc. And as always, remember, the more you lug in (you're kind of restricted on what you can bring in), the more you have to lug out of the track when the race is over.

I'll see ya there - got luxury box seats (FREE! - ;->) for the Busch race and on the front stretch in the Chrysler Grandstand for the 500!!!

In addition to the several different types of driver t-shirts and the closed toe shoes. I suggest a long sleeved t-shirt, sweatshirt or jacket to carry along. The weather is very nice during the day but, once the sun goes down, it gets quite chilly.

A couple of years ago, I was not prepared for the drop in temp and bought long sleeves at the track. But, that's a positive, now i have a long sleeved t-shirt I love and probably wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

Wear a Tony Stewart T-shirt!
Really, dress casual, jeans or shorts, whatever the weather calls for. You have to realize there's a very real chance some drunk is going to spill his nachos and beer all over you (or worse).
Just make sure you wear closed toe shoes, you can't go in the pits in flip flops!

wear whatever makes you feel comfortable..nascar is the place you go and be yourself...you can wear any thing you want to.jus check the weather before you go...i was caught once at the texas track when the day before we drove up there in 90 degree weather...past out in the truck and woke up to a cold front and winds pushing 10-15 mph all day with overcast....i was a cold mo-fo that day..never thought bout the weather that time but since then i have always gone prepared for any kind of weather...xcept tonadoes..not much you can do bout those except drink a cold beer and watch it work...jus be yourself..wear whatever you like..no one is there to judge you...we are there to race.

You will be required to wear pants, not shorts or capri's. They must come to the ankles. Also, I wore a tank top but I had to cover it before entering the pits. You must also wear closed toe shoes. I didn't understand my tank top but oh well. Wear something that represents your team or driver but make sure you wear long pants, closed toe shoes and something covering you shoulders ( short sleeves are fine)

Wear jeans and your favorite driver's shirt. Or almost anything really, not like you're going to some fancy place.

closed toe shoes, no shorts, anything with your favorite driver on it, a hat, have a sharpie and a camera cause you'll see a lot of people(racers).

get a lanyard to keep your pit credentials in (helpful and racefan fashion LOL)
