A coworker of mine got one and his got infected. After spending about a week in the hospital fighting infections (and almost having to go into surgery to remove part of the stud/tongue, he would say that it hurt like heck!

Do not listen to anyone that says it don't hurt. It does. I admit it don't hurt the minute you get it done but the next day when it swells it hurts like hell and then you end up talking funny for a good while. I think piercings are gross and tacky. I use to have my tongue, nose and libre pierced but I out grew all that and now see it all as trashy. Just my opinion but yes it does hurt.

i got mine done over four and half years ago and it didn't hurt initially, in fact i loved the pop you hear in your head lol. but i'm also partially sedistic. it did hurt afterwards for me because my tounge swelled up hella big to the point i couldn't talk and had to only text people that were standing right next to me. lol idk. but i don't remember the rest of the nite cuse evidently i blacked out but my now husband boyfriend at the time, said i was grrreat lamo. some of my friends who got their tounges peirced experienced no swelling and no pain so i believe it depends on the individual that is getting it done. be careful where you go that is a sterile place, check out their licence, they are required by law to post it in view of customers, you get what you pay for so if you are going somewhere that is charging you 20 bucks book it! get the heck outta there! ask questions, it's your body and if you want something in you, you have every right to know what each and every step is that the piercer/ tattoo artist is doing. it's your money too! don't forget that YOUR paying them not the other way around so dont feel shy about it! they'll always get another customer who will pay them for whatever so if you're not comfertable dont do it! there are people who get infections from non sterile instruments, infections due to complications during procedure etc. there are always risks in putting things/removing things from ones body. i have five tattoos and i had to research my shop before i got mine done. it's a desision to make when in rational non drunk/high mature mind frame. if you do get one relize that you may not be able to consume solid food for two weeks, you may not smoke *i did i know i'm a bad example but i was craving chicken and i'm a smoker its imposible not to smoke for me*, ice chips are your new best friend! do not DO NOT DO NOT i repeat if you didn't get it the first time DO NOT play with it i.e. move it around with your tounge, give oral sex, etc. any movement less is better!!! you can tear it since it is a hole in your mouth litteraly! nobody told me that and i have a permenant slight rip in my tounge from the initial hole. if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask me! good luck and many more piercings lol

I got it done over a year ago, It doesn't hurt at all. Biting your tongue accidentally when you're eating hurts more than it does to pierce it.

it does not hurt that bad because the clamp squeezes it so it oly feels like a pinch
please take care of it properly
that is the important part
and make sure to drink water and ice after for the swelling
hope everything works out!

it depends who you get it done with its like getting a shot in your butt sometimes it hurts and sometimes it doesnt all depending on the person that does it for you same thing with
the piercing but i suggest if you do get it done careful with your front teeth getting chipped because alot of people play with it and end up chipping their front teeth
