Ok so I have never done any illegal activity. Never gone to jail. I have a good permanent record. I am a smart student. I have never gotten an F, D, or C at the end of the year grades 1-7. I am in America since 4th grade. I focus on school really hard. Most of all, I really really want to stay in America. Like I said, Im smart. I was born in Europe, btw. I was a better speller than my 7th grade English teacher and she was born here. If necessary, I can pass any extra exams to stay in this country. What can I do? Right now, Im 13. I know that I have a future in America. I dont have a future in my old country. I dont like it. I love America. I love everything about it. People who were born here are so lucky. They should be honored and excited to stay here. What can I do once I hit 16?

Well you call yourself "God" so I don't know how mature you really are, but in any case your age doesn't matter. You can be deported at 16 or 60. You say you haven't done anything illegal but the fact that you're here in this country means you're doing everything illegal!

As for what you can do, Congress is trying to debate granting illegals in this country some type of amnesty that would allow you to stay. However under current law there isn't anything you can do legally except return to your home country and apply for a resident visa.

If you're caught and formally deported you will have to wait five years before you can apply to return.

Step # 1 would be to find out what it takes to change your status to legal. So long as you remain an illegal immigrant you are free to leave and will get that opportunity when the INS comes knocking some day. If you love America and want to stay then start finding out how to become a legal resident and eventually a citizen. Ask your teacher or your school librarian where to find the right answers.Go to the INS website and see if there is info there. Good luck...I hope it works out for you.

BTW...alot of us welcome legal immigrants we just don't want unidentified illegal immigrants pouring into this country....and there are plenty of good reasons for that.

You seem like you have your head together.

Why don't you become a citizen? I mean through legal channels? I think your record would be helpful to show whomever that you're serious about becoming a legal citizen.

I would consider you an illegal immigrant... not an illegal alien. Though the aliens try to cloud the issue... the difference is that immigrants wish to formalize their status by legal means, to obey the laws of their new country, and to contribute to its prosperity. Aliens only want to milk the system. They care nothing about America except what thy can take from it. Illegal alinens bfreak the law too it.

In answer to your question, I don't believe anything is automatic As scary as it might be, I'd contact INS and ask them. Tell them your situation. Tell them everything... how you entered the country, when, the whole thing.Tell them you want to become a legal citizen, but are concerned about doing so because you are unsure about the legality of your status. Just be honest.

Best of luck.

Look son, I know that you are in a difficult situation that you did not create. Your parents, did not do you any favors by coming into this country illegally. You should contact an immigration lawyer and see what they have to say. I wish you the best of luck! Just remember illegal is illegal, so get legal, whatever the cost.

No one is against immigrants. I was a legal immigrant and stood in line to become a citizen. ILLEGAL immigrants are the problem. Sorry if your parents decided to break the law. They aren't setting a good example. Tell them to contact an immigration attorney or go back to your country of origin and come back to the US legally when you are old enough.

Yes, I agree that people born here are lucky, especially the anchor babies (babies of illegal aliens) who are citizens due to the outdated 14th Amendment.

My elder son has spent some years in Texas as an engineering contractor and loves america of a, its human beings,or perhaps the gun lifestyle. What he has continuously loathed is the calibre of guy or woman at immigration while he enters america of a,whom he describes colourfully in words that i would not use in this internet site! I understand that the easy skills for those positions are (a) medical weight problems and (b) a crassly obnoxious way. the super Republic of course believes that obnoxiousness denotes power. incorrect!
