Be given your own Christian section on Y!A and let everyone else keep Religion and Spirituality, or stay in R&S and give atheists their own section?
Non-Christian believers (Jews, Buddhists, Pagans, Muslims) will remain in R&S regardless of your choice.

Leave it as it is. People need to get thicker skins in here. If someone gives you a stupid answer, ignore it. If there's a question clearly intended to be inflammatory, leave it alone. It's not that complicated. Christians that want to be isolationists need to realize that Jesus wasn't an isolationist. Where did he go -- to the tax collectors, sinners, and whores. (Oh please don't think I'm comparing atheists in R&S to tax collectors, sinners, and whores -- point being, he didn't hide in a group of Jewish priests only.)
Have a great night!

All faiths have some truths but not all truths are in one single faith only the son knows the father our creator. All else has been here a long time but laws of all universes allow visits for centuries from other plains of faith and beliefs but in 345Ad something happened to change the face of Christianity. Pagans were encouraged to join from then on and changes were made in beliefs and pagan holidays incorporated. The further back we go Jesus is pure truth and Sophia is pure female consciousness and wisdom. The female was buried by Christians for centuries so no one is 100% truth to this day. The Jews have truth concerning the tree of life circle 6 Satan and knowledge which is karma and also using God's Name Yahweh which is powerful. Mystics and Gnostic's have Sophia knowledge and acceptance which is dear to God Yahweh. Buddhism has excellent principals and in India body energies are understood. One day all truth will be pulled out and combined back together like it was before Babylon's tower fell and confused all languages and created many faiths diverted from one common truth.

Neither...this type of segregation would never work and would be impossible to enforce.
...but if you forced me to choose between the two, I'd think I'd choose giving atheists their own section. Not because I want them to go away, but because I wouldn't want to be excluded from the opportunity to learn about other religions. I would miss some of the thoughtful (or sometimes humorous) questions and answers posted by atheists in this section, but I'd miss the questions and answers posted by people that follow the other religions you mentioned even more!

ask this to atheists and see what answers you get.
I'd rather be given my own chrsitian section, so that christians can go there and talk about things there without the occasional or more than occasional atheists and coming to say "God doesn't exist" in one way or antoher.
given atheists their own section won't benefit anyone much. not to be offensive, but atheists can't really discuss their faith with people, unless they have doubts in not believing. most would come back to R&S anyway.
as for discussing religion in general? keep it the way it is.

The flakes follow where ever you go. If you divide this up to atheist protestant , catholic etc. The atheist will never be found on their own site they would spread out to cover more ground.
Eventually they are going to win the argument as all Christians will leave and there won't be anyone to argue with them. Watch when they start on each other. Like buzzards that can't find meat, they will kill each other.

No I think that all faiths as well as atheists and agnostics should be here. It would be nice if there was a section for "lame questions" about religion though.

It's fine the way it is. Christians will try to convert non-Christians, and and attack Pagans and Muslims, and atheists will follow Christians so they can attack them.

All I have to do is say I'm a True Christian and I am, right? I mean it's not like you have to have a permit or anything. Hell, just look at some of the idjits that REALLY think they are Christians.

Keep the Christians here. We're slowly bringing them to Christ.
