Who is the "me" in the first line of the passage? The book of Deuteronomy is a retelling of the first 4 books of the Bible by Moses as he is arriving at the "promised land" that he knows he is not going to live to see. The passage is a warning about false prophets.
Moses says, God told me he's going to give you some prophets from among your own people. Some of them will speak the true word of God and some of them will say they are speaking the true word of God, but they are not. The way to tell the difference is, if the prophecy comes true, then the prophet was real. If it doesn't come true, then the prophet was false and he will die.
Moses, Jesus of Nazareth, and Mohammad were all the son of God as are you and I. We are all made of God. God is inside all of us. God is what we are made of, what every living and non-living thing is made of.
This is not a "My religion's better than yours" argument. The children of Israel are about to walk in to the promised land and take over. Moses is saying, Hey, if this doesn't happen, don't take it out on God, it was me who was a false prophet, the words I spoke weren't God's words. But, if things do come true, then I was a true prophet.

To Christians: Yes he is part of the triune or godhead, and he will return to earth and set up a new kingdom for a 1000 years of peace. It will be called the New Jerusalem and will be in Israel.
To Jews: He is considered a Rabbi, but not called Jesus but Yeshua, his Hebrew name. There is no letter J in the Hebrew Alphabet. He is not the Messiah according to what they believe because he failed to bring peace to the world when he was on earth and did not fulfill all the prophecies, according to the Torah and Holy Jewish Scriptures.
To Muslims: He is considered a prophet. They believe that a Maahdi,(religious leader) will return . Jesus live on earth for 40 years and then die a natural death. They do not believe that he was ever crucified on the cross or resurrected from the dead.

I am an atheist, i think Jesus was just a really nice guy. He chalanged the tyrany of rome and paid the ultamate price.
I think that a lot of Christians think of him more as an Earthly incarnation of god himself, rather than a Son as such. when i try to fathom the father/son/spirt thing i get real stumped, there is allegidly one god in christianity but i count four gods (father, son, spirit, satan) and a goddess (mary) all worshpied (except satan, must be so mean because he feels lonely and left out) in Catholocism.

Jesus can be anything just to convince you they are right.
I heard many different answers regarding Jesus and Trinity, they come differently all the time just to convince you they are right.
I heard two very completely different answers about Jesus from a missionary married couple who have been married for +20 years!!
So, Jesus can be ANYTHING just to prove you are wrong and they are right.
To EnviroDude:
Who wrote the Bible?? Was it Jesus?? Or was a group of different people who never met, WHO WROTE ABOUT JESUS?? When was the Bible complete, or considered to be complete?? Were the people who wrote about Jesus PERFECT?? I mean don't you think that they might have forgotten something, made a mistake, or rephrased a sentence, like this example,
X slept with her boyfriend.
X is committed adultery with her boyfriend
The above two sentences means the same thing, but the second one is harsher, don't you think that those people made some mistakes, even though they are saying the same thing, like in the above example.
Yes, we honor Jesus in Islam, but who said that we have to follow him?? You guys are not following Jesus, you guys are following the people who wrote about him!! Get a red line Bible, where every thing said by Jesus in written in Red. How much of the Bible is red?? not much.

Deut 18:17-18 KJV
"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him."
Who is the Prophet? Stephen used this verse to support his claim that Jesus Christ is God's Son, the Messiah (Acts 7:37). The coming of Jesus Christ to earth was not an afterthought, but part of God's original plan.
Christ the great Prophet.
It is here promised concerning Christ, that there should come a Prophet, great above all the prophets; by whom God would make known himself and his will to the children of men, more fully and clearly than he had ever done before. He is the Light of the world, Joh 8:12. He is the World by whom God speaks to us, Joh 1:1; Heb 1:2. In his birth he should be one of their
nation. In his resurrection he should be raised up at Jerusalem, and from thence his doctrine should go forth to all the world. Thus God, having raised up his Son Christ Jesus, sent him to bless us. He should be like unto Moses, only above him. This prophet is come, even JESUS; and is to He that should come, to and we are to look for no other. The view of God which he gives, will not terrify or overwhelm, but encourages us. He speaks with fatherly affection and Divine authority united. Whoever refuses to listen to Jesus Christ, shall find it is at his peril; the same that is the Prophet is to be his Judge, Joh 12:48. Woe then to those who refuse to hearken to His voice, to accept His salvation, or yield obedience to His sway! But happy they who trust in Him, and obey Him. He will lead them in the paths of safety and peace, until He brings them to the land of perfect light, purity, and happiness. Here is a caution against false prophets. It
highly concerns us to have a right touchstone wherewith to try the word we hear, that we may know what that word is which the Lord has not spoken. Whatever is against the plain sense of the written word, or which gives countenance or encouragement to sin, we may be sure is not that which the Lord has spoken.
=============================================
This scripture has nothing to do with Muhammed. It is about Jesus Christ.
You are trying to hard to make this scripture fit into something you want to believe, but it is not true. Jesus is the Son of God and the Promised Prophet.
“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”

Jesus is the son of God. Jesus was a HEB. A Highly Evolved Being. He knew how to be LOVE, to be PEACE, to be KIND, to be COMPASSION, to be GENEROUS, to be GENTLE, he didn't JUDGE, he didn't act SUPERIOR, he didn't have EGO, (edged God out), he was only good.
God Bless
