If she wants to. I think it is very common for families to have baptismal gowns that are passed down to generations. I was baptized in a gown that my mom and her siblings were baptized in, and I baptized my daughter in it as well. That's a 3 generational gown!!

While I like the answer that says to turn it into butt wipes, I think that the woman should not turn the dress into a baptismal gown. The gown is for her to remember the day by, for it is her day and she should keep it. Besides, if she has kids, or nieces, or really little sisters, or grandchildren, they may want to see it and try it on and think about what kind of guy they want to marry and how they want their day to go. Guys wouldn't understand this because they don't get it. After they ask the woman to marry them, SHE is usually the one that plans the wedding. The dress is her way of remembering how her special day went, and I have never heard of this idea. I don't know where you heard it, either.

properly, I didnt think of roughly it while i became a youngster, yet i'm no longer lots older than you, i'm 22 now. i want a lace gown, with some form of sleeve (like cap sleeves or thick straps) and an open returned, with a geared up form, no longer mermaid, yet comparable. something romantic, flowy, with buttons down the returned. In a champagne or Ivory colour. i'm engaged now, so i assume Ive had a brilliant form of time to think of this over, and our date is set for 2 years from now, i'm going to have merely became 25.

What a sweet thought. With all the material I'm sure you could even come up with another occasion's down the line. Like grade school graduation or even middle school graduation. Why not utilize even more of that same sentiment. I had two sons. Having a daughter is such a joy and being able to share and hold on to memories of this kind; it was once so special to you and remains special with her. Its all where your heart is.

That is a great idea, if there is none passed down. But I think keeping the dress is also very sentimental, especially if she is going to have daughters later... They love looking at the dress, trying it on, and dream their weddings.

That's a great idea- one that hasn't crossed my mind. I always wanted to save my gown for my daughter, but there's no guarantee she's want it. A baptismal gown guarantees that it will be used and won't be taking up room in a huge box. Thanks.
