You're being some what evasive in your question. You're failing to disclose what it is they want you to do. A side from that you do have what is called a vexing and annoying phone call, with threats. If you reside in California, file a 653M report with the police immediately

That is not only a threat, it may be extortion, as he is trying to make you do something you don't want to.
Not only should you call the police and report the incident, ask them for information on a restraining ordrer.

Yes, that consititutes a threat. You should be able to get a restraining order. Unfortunately, that's probably about as far as the police will take it. The won't do anything unless he actually carries out the threat. Good luck

Zanbar Province is right...You must make a record of it with your local police department, so if and when it happens again - action can take place. Good that it was recorded, you never know how serious this could be.
Best wishes

Yes, it would be considered telephone harrassment. If the person wrote a letter or told you in person it would be considered more serious because the person had a greater chance of being found out.

Making physical threats against people is illegal. Telephone harrassment is also illegal. This guy is breaking at least two laws.

If they threatened you in any way you need to report it to authorities immediately. Good thing you had a tape recorder nearby to get it all. ??
