The world record for having the most number of children officially recorded is 69 by the first of two wives of Feodor Vassilyev (1707-1782), a peasant from Shuya, 150 miles east of Moscow. In 27 confinements, she gave birth to 16 pairs of twins, seven sets of triplets and four sets of quadruplets. The children were born between 1725-1765.

I remember awhile back reading that the most (for Ohio) was something like 25 for a woman (not at one time obviously lol) but that may have changed since I am not sure.
I have just my 2 boys. My mom only had me. My grandma had 3 live births but had 1 stillbirth and 2 miscarriages. My greatgrandma had 14 kids (my grandma's mom). I know back when my grandparents were born it was normal for woman to have between 10-20 babies without a second thought.
edit: They are right 69 is the world record that I can find, don't think any woman has topped that but I am sure a few men have

69. Some woman in the former USSR and they were all multiples. Twins, triplets and Quadruplets.
Nobody has had more than septuplets (7) surviving. While there was a set of 9, they all died. There was also two sets of 8, but not all lived.

I had a friend whose grandma gave birth to 22 children in her life. Not counting miscarriages but counting stillborns. At one time I don't know the most I've heard of is 8.
