Depends on how much you drink ... A beer or two probably won't put you in the alcoholic category.

Perhaps not, but it's a good thing that you are asking yourself this question so you can keep an honest check on your consumption. I will have a "wine or two" almost every evening (or a nice beer or spirit) and don't consider myself an alcoholic. I enjoy nice quality drinks and ending a hard day with a calming drink. And if I am in good company I will easily polish off a whole bottle of wine without getting smashed.
BUT, alcoholism does run in my family so I am very aware of how dangerously easy it could be to let it become an excessive habit, especially during those challenging times in life.

Only if it interferes with your daily activities and relationships.
You have to make that decision for yourself. And you can start by asking yourself some very simple questions --
What happens when I drink alcohol?
Does my drinking affect the way that those around me treat me?
Does my drinking affect the way I treat those around me?
Do bad things happen when I drink?
Would I feel depressed or upset if I didn't drink tonight (or any night)?
Chances are, if you think you *might* be an alcoholic, you probably are. But there are always exceptions. And regardless of whether you are or aren't, nobody else is going to be able to decide for you. Only you can answer that question.

No.
My sister has a glass or two of wine every night before bed.
You are an alcoholic if you need it to function. Also if you cannot think about anything but your next drink and cannot stop at just one drink. Everytime you drink you drink to get drunk then that would make you an alcoholic

It would be a good idea to tone it down a little, but I don't think you're an alcoholic. If you can stop whever you want to, without withdraw, you're not. If you don't feel that you have to drink all the time, or get drunk to forget your worries, being bombed out of your mind, barely functional, you're not an alcoholic. As long as you keep it under control, and you don't drink a lot, you should be fine. A little red wine is good for your heart (But only a littl, like one glass twice a month). So keep it under control, and you should be fine.

Well I have done that before but, I never considered myself an alcholic because, there were some days where i didnt drink at all and plus i was much younger when i did drink everyday, and there was a time that i drank everyday because my husband was out of town and it was just me and my kids and i was lonely so it helped and made me feel better. But now I drink about once a week and yes I do get drunk at times if you can do that later on in life then no i dont think your an alcholic, just be care ask yourself why do i drink?

An alcoholic is someone who cannot control their drinking. If you start drinking and always end up drunk when you drink, you might want to try an AA meeting.

An alcoholic is a person who is addicted to alcohol.
Drunkeness is not nescesarily a pre-requisite.
If you turn to alcohol to escape your problems you probably are.
A simple test would be going two weeks without...
