I hate that we are called "pro- illegal immigration" because I don't think most of us are, we merely want a comprehensive solution that is more humane and better thought out than our government usually provides.

Now, my question is this: Would you be so kind as to tell me if any of the following apply to you (as this has been posted many times before)

Are you illegal?
An "anchorbaby"?
Someone the is intimately involved or in love with an illegal?
Will you directly benefit from illegals being here?

I ask this because I am sick of the ignorant stereotypes that I see on here, and, some very rude gentleman just called another pro (and sweet kid) a Mexican Bimbo (though she is white). And, I have seen the above list here over and over. Perhaps I am wrong, but, I don't think many of us fall in those categories.

ME: No. Mother's side from Wales. Great great grandfather was first to be buried in family cemetery. My fathers side is English. My darling husband is at least 4 generations from England. Family tree in Tennessee. Our babies have blond curly hair and blue eyes. I am considered a "pro". And, none of the stereotypes apply to me......

Not Super Chee & ProUsa- I completely agree that insults come from both sides. I also think that racists of any color are ignorant hate mongers that offer nothing worthwhile to society. Both sides have unstable extremists that are not only obnoxious and scary, but, potentially dangerous. This post was in response to repeatidly having someone post that list of "All pros are either- or-" As such, I posted this in an attempt to get that statement broken through. I haven't seen anyone say "all antis are", (with a list), and, if I do see someone saying they are all racist, I ALWAYS state that most antis aren't, just the loudmouth ones are the most memorable.... (though few)

I am not Pro illegal nor an anchor baby(ugh I hate that)I do not have anyone in my family who is illegal and am not involved romantically with an illegal.
I'm just well informed and realize we have a problem.A problem that isn't going to be solved until everyone unites for a common cause.Which is Immigration REFORM.because until some people pull their heads out of their northern border area this problem ain't going away.

I'm not an illegal. I'm not an American citizen born to an undocumented immigrant. I'm of Hispanic heritage. I'm not in love with anyone here with an illegal status. I do not stand to directly benefit from illegals here.

I don't think anyone is pro-illegal. Like, who's in favor of just throwing the doors open and let anybody and everybody in? No one. I just know there's a huge number of them here, most of them decent, honest, hardworking people. We are not deporting millions of people. Maybe a few hundred, maybe a few thousand, hardly a few hundreds of thousands. Definitively NOT millions. So, find a solution for the ones already here, stop destroying families, marriages, etc.and tighten the laws after that.

Its not pro-illegal, its pro-immigration reform, and from what I have seen, its not anti-illegal, its anti-immigration.

I am a US citizen and my grandparents came from Canada during WWI and from the UK during WWII at the invitation of the US Navy contractors to assist in building ships.

I am a former Border Patrol Agent. We used to complain that we could concentrate on deporting violent criminals and terrorists if we weren't wasting time catching busboys and valets.

I also used to be Director of Finance for the Restaurant Association, and have heard numerous complaints from restaurateurs about immigration.

I have lived in foreign countries and know the other side of immigration, so I know that the US isn't the only country with asinine immigration laws or officials. You often have to call in favors, pay bribes or get the consul involved just to live in peace.

Now I work for a law firm and have seen USCIS do some pretty stupid things to people who are about as harmful to the US as the ladies garden club.

I am a US Citizen. My parents came here legally and then became citizens. My mom actually did not have a need to come but my dad did.
I proudly carry the blood of Mexican, Salvadorian, Spanish and German. I am not in love with an illegal person. He is Indian (from India) His company sponsored him to come over and he legalized himself here in the US. I am Pro Amnesty, Pro Dream Act. I believe people deserve a chance to make a better living for themselves! I do not believe in people coming here and committing crimes i.e. rape, murder, etc. These are the people that should not be in our jail system, if they are illegal and committed murder or rape they need to be deported but if they are trying to better their lives, then I have no objection!
It is annoying to see racism of any kind but it happens and it is only done by a few ignorant people, so I can ignore it most of the time. The only thing I don't like is generalizations of any kind. If you don't agree with me then lets agree to disagree and go our own ways.
I have read up a lot on immigration topics and third world countries going thru turmoil. Some have no choice, stay and die or risk your life for a better one. It is very sad to see what people go thru in some of their countries. Look what happened in Sudan, what's happening in Darfur. How children that are 12 or younger are forced to become rebels in El Salvador. Look at the communism in Cuba. I just finished reading "The Daughters of Juarez" by Teresa Rodriguez. It is a very sad situation. I do agree the the Mexican government needs to do more for its' people as do most of the other governments with an impoverished population. So since I am informed, I do not object in people coming over to have a better life. I think there should be a better way for them so they don't have to keep risking their lives or having the coyotes take advantage of them.
I have heard many first hand stories of people coming over here illegally and believe me if they had a choice of doing it legally they would have. They don't have a choice most of the time! Why would anyone want to come here illegally and live in fear? They in many cases have applied but do not have enough money or are rejected. So that's my opinion and just like yours it cannot be changed! Have a good life, all!;)

There's aren't any good reasons for any patriotic American to support people who came into the United States illegally. I don't understand why any Anglo would ever support illegal immigration into the U.S. Most of the Hispanic advocacy groups that support illegal aliens are quite clear that they want to bring in as many Hispanic immigrants as possible so they will get more social & political power. That is the main goal of groups like La Raza & MECHA. The pro illegal immigrant side has a lot more racists in it then does the anti-illegal immigrant side. And how can you support something that has the word illegal in it?

To answer your questions
1. No
2. No
3. I enjoy who I'm currently seeking, who is not an illegal. Even tho we have our fair share of disagreements.
4. No never.

As for the unstable Extremists on both sides of the issue, there are those of us Anti's who don't even claim their views as part of who we are... let alone want speaking for us. Tho most of the Pros seem to think that they do.

Let me make myself clear. The Anti extremists do not speak for me. I can't seem to shake that thought from most of you Pros. But that is not my problem. That seems to be the problem of those who think or assume I am extreme.

They seem to be on their own missions, and paths, from both sides, of self destructive behavior.

And being Pro American, and Anti on illegals doesn't make those of us racists either. Because we are not singling out one group or race over another to favor. WE are, and do happen to be talking about ALL the illegals that have come here... And are here...

We reasonable Anti's talk about, and refer to have this issue resolved lawfully, and through political process. Just as some Pros do.

The extremists from both sides talk of destroying them, and each other.

The mainstream media only presents two ways to deal with illegals: deport them all (and find the gazillions of dollars somewhere to do this) or amnesty all of them.
They fail to mention the most logical, fair solution: attrition through enforcement of our current immigration laws. Illegals will self-deport on their own dime when we quit providing free public services for them. How fair do you think it is that hard-working middle class workers are footing the bill for illegal babies to be born in hosipitals? How about American kids that are exposed to lowered standards at public schools because the schools must teach (no child left behind!!) to so many ESL students? How about commuting on the freeway with a million unlicenses, uninsured drivers that double the commute time and increase all of our insurance premiums? How about the burden the extra people put on power grids and natural resources? Why should illegals get priority over immigrants who are following the legal immigration path?
Until you, personally, are willing to take in an immigrant family and subsidize their needs for food, health care, schooling, and social services, you need to support the anti-illegal immigrant laws on the books and quit volunteering OUR tax dollars to support or subsidize these people. We as the US cannot take on the whole third-world without sinking the whole life boat. This is not a matter of cold-heartedness--these are cold hard facts. Illegal families cost US taxpayers approximately $25,000 a year in services. This is AFTER the supposed cheap tomatoes they provide us. (Which is a misnomer too-- the profits go to Agriculture, not price reductions for consumers!!)
This is not a matter of them being "good, hard-working people" (which they are not all, by the way), it is a matter of US taxpayers footing the bill for people who are breaking our laws. The fact that the US government allows this to continue is despicable.

I used to be illegal. I was taken to the US when I was 4. While I was in high school I found out that I was in the US illegally. My parents explained and I understood. I finished High School and left America for Mexico without the approval from my parents. Now, I attend college in Mexico and work for microsoft. It is funny that I have to take spanish classes though lol. However, my story will never be on TV. Only the ones of mexicans or hispanics hurting America will. It happened in the african american movement in the past. It repeats itself again.

I follow the new hate towards mexicans and Mexico in general through the net and TV. I hate it. I must say all of the rhetoric towards mexicans was developing a hate in me towards americans. But I don't mind anymore, I am better than them. And I know it is not all americans that hate mexicans, only those that have no heart.

I am legal.

I am not an anchor baby.

I am not intimately involved or in love with an illegal but with an American Christian who is Super.

I don't benefit directly from illegals being here.

I would like also to say that I can't vote for president and I should not vote because it would not be right. But I make money and I pay income taxes and I think that I totally have a right to criticise the way my tax dollars are being used.

And I am proud to say this year that I made (very small) investments in 2 small busineses started by AMERICAN women and also helped with the work with them.

I don't think that I am bad for America.

I don't consider myself a "pro-illegal" at all. I consider myself to be a realist. Pro-reform is fair to call me.

I know people who are illegal or were illegal. A few of them I am Honoured and warmed that they call me their friend.

I don't think that illegal immigration is good. I don't hate people for doing it. I have said this So many times on here!

I don't believe that blanket amnesty is the right thing. I don't believe that large raids and deportations like Operation Wet back is right.

And I Really don't believe in:
* deporting US citizens or canceling birthright citizenship because you don't like their parents
* putting illegals in prison camps
* or building the Great Wall of Aztlan.

I see insults coming from both sides, pros and antis, but I don't see ANY complaints by the "PROS" about the insults coming from YOUR side of the issue. Wonder why that is??? Hmmmm??

It's just as wrong for a pro to insult an anti as it is for an anti to insult a pro.
