My friend son is 5 years old he still wears a diaper nothing is wrong with kid. my friend is just a lazy poor exuse for a farther. (I THINK THE KID DOES IT ON SPITE)The kid mother is out of the picture. He tryed to send his son in school wearing a diaper. The school obviously won't take him. He is under the impression it is the school responsibility to take him they cant rufuse a child's education. I never heard of any teacher thats going to change a 5 year old? wouldnt social services get involved? Even if the kid got into school wearing a diaper wouldnt the other kids make fun of him if not potty trained?

child abuse...paaaalease. Children (and parents) progress at their own rate.
It's so easy to look at others and judge.
Mind your own beeswax and stop thinking you know how to raise someone else's kid.

First of all, it is shocking to me that a father is so negligent of his child! Yes it is neglect! In my opinion the father should be force-stuck in a pair of diapers for 24 hrs to realize how disgusting this is! It is not the teachers responsibility to change a 5 yr old boys/girls diaper. At this age the child is comprehensive enough, that if the father tells him how one should use the bathroom he will understand. As a friend you should talk to the father and tell him that you are concerned about this, assuming you are....

A five year old is old enough to reason out the whole process. He is spoiled and needs to be disciplined. No more diapers should be purchased just underwear and if and when he pees himself at school, the other kids will make fun of him and he will want to potty train himself.

My son was 4 and absolutely did not want to use the toilet, no matter how much time I spent with him or positive reinforcement I tried. I finally said to him that if he wanted to continue to do his business in his diaper, that was his choice but I was not changing it any longer. I put the diapers and wipes where he could reach them and refused to change him. He got poop on his hands 2 times from trying to change himself and thought it was really gross and ever after used the toilet.
And no, the teachers in regular classroom settings will not change diapers.

If yo are in the picture and you see the kid often try to help him. Play with him and use reverse psychology. Laugh at him, Joke about how small of a child he is that he is waring a dipper. Kids are not dumb, he should react quickly, just be persistent and solicit some help of others around the child. Good Luck

Not potty training a child for the sake of not taking the time to is legally considered child abuse. Your friend can have his son taken away in a second by CPS and could even spend time in jail for it. I would definitely contact CPS about this.
