I want to get one of these and I found a little 7mo on Craigslist to be rehomed nearby (I know to go check out the dog, where it's kept, conditions and health etc) so can someone please tell me about this breed? I love the way these guys look, and so far I've heard nothing bad about them. Usually I get my dogs from the pound, this is a first getting this guy from somewhere else. It's a family that apparently doesn't have time for the puppy (how sad) and our dog needs a friend to play with, preferrably a small one. Our dog is great with all other animals-- even the little ferrets.

I own a french Bulldog and I would have to say they are the best companion dog. You should go to a local book store and get a book on the breed or research the internet, before hand to make sure you are making the right decision for you and your family, they do/can have some health problems that are quite common and can not take the heat at all. They are not an outside for the day kinda breed. If you already made up your mind get the owner to give you a recent shot record and vet check up before you get into something bad.
