Many people have different beliefs of God and his "requirements" about getting into Heaven. But the most Ive heard is that Homosexuals, non-believers, prostitutes, sex before marriage, and other things damn people to Hell. They are not allowed in Heaven. I always thought that if you "Pray for Forgiveness" you are allowed to go to Heaven. So Im curious, who exactly goes to Heaven. And if God denies these people doesnt that make him a bad "higher-power?" Also, whose to say who goes to Heaven or Hell?

It's a fairytale story! Grow up and face the truth in life. Live your life to the fullest; do not let spiritual constraint bring you down. All we need to live an honest and peaceful life is to follow the Constitution and be good to others.

God doesn't send people to hell, they send themselves. Yes, there is forgiveness of sins for all, so long as you are really sorry. If you are really sorry for your sin, then you stop do it, or at least make an honest attempt to stop, like in the case of drugs, etc.

Children of God go to Heaven. All are creation of God, only those that have prayed to ask for forgiveness and repent of their sins and follow Jesus Christ are children of God. Salvation is given freely to all by the GRACE (forgiveness not deserved) of Jesus who died for our sins, IF only you will ask and mean it from your heart. God knows your true heart, you can not fool him and you also can not EARN salvation, as it is a GIFT for the asking.

God is NEVER bad and he does not deny anyone who really loves and follows Christ Jesus. Again, each individual is responsible for their own eternal life, it is a matter of the choice they make. Everyone has eternal life, it is a matter of WHERE you spend it dependent on the choice YOU make. You can either make a choice for God or not. All who do not make a choice for God have automatically made the choice against him.

Nikki, you're asking a question based on theological doctrine. What about the lost pygmies in Africa? God made them what they are and where they are but if they don't believe in the Bible or the Koran or any other holy scripture(because they don't know what it is) can we expect them to be damned?

This is something that you have to know in your heart through personal faith. I'm Catholic but I'm a "bad " Catholic because I believe that God is perfect and dogma is something that the CHURCH messed up in translation. Case in point: I asked a priest once, "Is God stronger than Satan?" Of course the answer was, "Yes". "Then," I asked, " Why don't God destroy Satan and all of his minions so that He can deliver us from evil once and for all?" I never got an answer to that.

If God is all of the good things (and I believe He is) we're taught then it is not He who selects anyone for damnation. Damnation is a path chosen by the individual and my personal belief is that those who are evil will go to hell for sure while those who are not go to heaven. Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Jeffrey Dahmer? Roasting as we speak!

But anyone who you mentioned earlier going to hell for those reasons? I just can't see it and I dont believe it. What about Adam and Eve? What priest married them? And what of Pontius Pilate? A non believer who advocated that Jesus NOT be crucified? I could go on but I think you'll get my point.

The answers that you're looking for can't be answered by any human, so please- don't be angry with God because a human tells you what to believe about Him- especially if it's something you don't like.

Build your own personal relationship with Him. He will give you your answers and He will light your path. I don't know if this answers any of your questions at all- but at least now I hope you can find them. :)

Those in heaven will have a deep and personal relationship with God. We will spend much of our existence in heaven worshiping, praising, and adoring our King and Savior. So, if someone doesn't care to do much of that here during this life time, would it be fair to force them to for all eternity?
In heaven God will be total and complete reign over all; there will be no rebellion, no questioning His authority.
God will only allow those who have agreed to accept His rule over them into heaven. This is the only way to keep heaven a place of complete peace and harmony.

First off people determine their afterlife by their own actions in this life. You would no more blame a judge for invoking sentencing on someone whom committed a crime (It isn't that I robbed an old lady, no, it's the judges fault for sentencing me to 10 years)

Second NO ONE knows for sure what can condemn another person. Our Heavenly Father is the only one who decides who goes and who stays. In the bible it states that one sin is the same as another. So whether you are "gay" or tell little white lies about the tooth fairy to your children it is all sin. Wrong is wrong. When we were placed on this earth he KNEW ALREADY that we would not be perfect and each of us would have specific challenges. It is what is in the heart that makes the difference. Remember God is our Father and just like us we forgive our children for the faults they have, he forgives us.

I think you are mixing what society says is wrong and what truly is. If you pop a grape in your mouth at the market, it is taste testing, if you do the same in the middle east your hand is severed. It is important to remember each person is responsible for their own soul. It is not for us to judge another person or decide if they are damned.

God is truly the One who says who goes to Heaven or to Hell. And his requirements for one to get into Heaven, is that a person be born again, and accept Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord of their life. 1 John 1:9 tells us that if a person confesses their sins, that God is faithful to forgive them for their sins, and to cleanse them from all unrighteousness. Jesus also told us in John 14:6, that He is the way (into Heaven), and that no person would come unto the Heavenly Father, but by Him. This provision for the forgiveness of our sins, applies to homosexuals, non-believers, prostitutes, adulterants (sex before marriage), and the many other types of people who live their lives in sin. Just as you say, if a person truly prays for forgiveness for for their sins, they will be forgiven, and they will truly be allowed to go to Heaven. And the only people who will go to Heaven, will be those who have prayed for forgiveness for their sins, and become a new creature in Christ Jesus. (2 Cor. 5:17) God has never been a "bad" higher power, and He never shall be. But He is a God of true love and divine forgiveness. So to just put it in plain terms, those who have asked for forgiveness and accepted Jesus as their Savior, will go to Heaven. And those who have never done so, will go to Hell. Is this clear enough?

That list you gave of prostitutes, homosexuals etc. is mentioned as activities that WON'T go on in heaven it does not mean that people who commit these sins can't go to heaven. Jesus died so ANYONE can go to heaven however everyone is not interested in God and have made God their enemy at the heart level, THESE people are in danger of going to hell if they do not repent.

No that is so stupid. Of course if people saw God they are going to ask for forgiveness at the last second. That's not how it works. You have to believe in him the whole time not just after you die. And you're right we have no proof that homosexuals are going to hell so people need to leave them alone. But anyway he's not damning the people to hell they're damning theirselves. They have YEARS to get their act together and they don't. Whose fault is that?

My understanding is that via Free Will acts some people damn themselves to Hell.. God does not do this. God gives His grace freely and waits for each of us to make choices which either earn a place in heaven or a place in Hell. In this equation someplace forgiveness plays in and ultimately God decides placement.

Jn 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

one of the key words here is "Believe" If one believes they will be truely sorry for sinning against God and asking for forgiveness. All sins can be forgiven except for unbelief, blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. It is true God says who gains entrance to heaven, but it is our actions and beliefs or lack there of, that will ultimately be the reason for His pronouncement of judgment or forgiveness.

Christians will tell you that you damn yourself to hell. But who created hell and for what purpose? Can a being who creates eternal punishment be good? Christians will tell you that the only sin you can go to hell for is if you reject God. But what kind of an evil being would condemn a person to eternal just for the weakness of not being able to believe? Even Mother Teresa said that she has a hard time believing.
