Yes they do. Especially if you are an American. My husband is Mexican (He is legal) and I am white. Whenever we return from Mexico they always search our car and ask us the stupidest questions. My husbands family all live in Mexico, so we go down there several times a year. Don't do anything stupid. They have drug dogs and the whole nine yards.

This depends on the level of suspicion. Most motorists are profiled as being a small risk, a moderate risk, or a high risk. It's the later who will get the once over, including sniffing dogs, etc.

Absolutely yes. There are drug/bomb sniffing dogs, x-ray equip, and the agents are sometimes tipped of by whoever sold the contraband to you. So whatever you were planning, don't do it unless you like spending quality time with heavily tattooed guys named Leroy, Spike, Spider, or Bubba that may want to play house and dance with you.

some times they do sometimes they don't it is usually a 20% rule for citizens , as for thoughowness there are Many horror storys of them taking the car apart and leaving it to you to put it back togeather when they dont find anything

yes ... often the money from illegal drug trade is on the way back.. Law Enforcement can spend seized cash.. so they'd rather catch the money going back than the drugs they cant smoke coming in
