The best advice is to make an appointment on Monday to see a good psych. A friend of mine, who is one, told me depending on age, family background, your circle of friends, fears put into you as a child, or things your going now could cause what your're feeling and thinking.
There isn't enough info to figure out anything. Maybe you are having a baby or just had one. Possibly you're in school and over-stressed. Stress alone, or a break up or a death of a family member or bffl can cause it. Perhaps you have to move and leave all you love or maybe you don't feel loved enough. BUT THE ONE MOST IMPORTANT THING HE SHARED WITH ME IS THAT PEOPLE WHO THINK THEY'RE LOSING IT, ARE NOT! When you are having some sort of breakdown, your're so out of it, you,re the last to know. Yup, I hear a problem, but not as bad as you think.
Chicken Little, I'm glad to tell you, the sky is not falling in, even though it feels like it is. I wish I could help you more, but not enough information. Hang in there to Monday and even go to Church or Temple or call a Mental Health Division of a good hospital in you area, for a referral to a dr. like my friend. Very user friendly, but for talk only. One baby step at a time. You can always come back here with more information, but don't just dwell on your thoughts.
You'll be good as new in no time!

You really need to add more details to get a better answer. I use to feel that I was losing my mind. What I needed was medicine and a good support system. That brought me back to reality. Feeling like you are losing it is really scary. I don't ever want to feel that way again. So push yourself to seek help. You can and will get better. Have a positive attitude and get some help. If you have crazy or sick thoughts, just tell them to go away and that it is not your fault. That is how I learned to control mine. Prayer also helps a lot.

You probably have a lot going on in your life right now. Just step back, and take a deep breath. Maybe cut back on some of the things you're doing, and try to make time for yourself. If you really feel like you have a problem (something more than stress)... see if you can talk to someone about it. They might perscribe you some depression/anxiety medication.

As a pharmacy student I would tell you that lots of drugs can make violent and abstract thoughts pop into your head. This includes legal and illegal drugs. So if you are doing illegal drugs stop before you hurt yourself. If you are taking legal drugs that may be causing it, don't stop the medication, but please talk to your doctor as soon as possible.
If you are not taking anything that may be causing these thoughts you may want to see a psychiatrist. Keep in mind that we all have violent and abstract thoughts from time to time, but if it is reducing the quality of your life, its time to go see a doctor.
Hope that helps...
I hope that helps....

It's not easy to lose your mind and you're fearful that you are losing yours.
Actually.... your mind is far from lost.
What insanity I used to have was because I believed whatever crazy thought appeared.
Now I don't believe my mind. I've lost my mind....
I feel saner. So if you were to ask me, I'd say losing your mind is a good thing....
Really insane people have not lost their mind, they're painfully addicted to their mind.
I may have lost my mind.... but I'm at peace because I did.
