Although I do doubt this, I often wonder if Teresa's reasons for holding on the DEI is something more than greed or trying to keep his children from what they are supposed to have one day.
First of all, NASCAR is a dangerous sport. Sr. knew this but he never put in writing that he wanted DEI to go to his children. Maybe he thought his wife would do the right thing. Who knows. I do wonder if Teresa wont give up 50% DEI right now because Jr. isn't Dale Sr's only child. Could you imagine the issues of giving controlling stock in a company to several siblings? I wonder how long it would be before the kids are fighting over this or that? Imagine fighting over who drives this car or that car or who manages the money....it could go on and on....
I really don't know and only time will tell whether she is looking out for the company in her own way or whether she needs an attitude adjustment...one day all will be answered.

As most have said "IF" Sr was still alive this would not be happening. But, he isn't still with us. So, the drama began.

Sr did say that he built his empire for his wife and children. Most of the time in society. When a spouse dies, the wife gets large chunk of the estate and the kids get equal amounts of the remainder. Jr is not the only child left here. There are others to think about. So, why would he get 51%, the math does not add up to the others getting an equal amount.

Did anyone consider that Theresa may be trying to make sure all the children get an equal amount? I'm not a fan of hers but, it is something to ponder.

Dale Sr. would not put up with any of this crap. Besides, he probably would have been divorced from Theresa by now anyway. The name is easy DALE EARNHARDT INC. Not "Some business with big fast cars that my dead husband left me (AKA Theresa Earnhardt Inc.)"

Nuff said......

NO sr wouldnt have knocked his son out, theresa is draggin dei down and jr sees this and want to keep his fathers name and company above water, but theresa has managed to keep him from doin that. So next year with no jr and no eury's around, what will dei be? DEI was and all ways will be earnhardts and eury's and least in my mind. but now with only one earnhardt left, and one thats probably never been in a race car. DEI will quickly hit rockbottom, then jr will buy out what righfully belongs to him. DEI will once again return to the top.

Dale would have done nothing of the sort. Lets see if he were alive this would have never happened. If it did happen, Jr wouldnt have been talking to teresa but to his dad. Illogical question.

edit- Your question is flawed on so many levels. Dale started the company with his wife, for his kids. Key component there is the fact that everyone that knew him can state that he said on numerous occasions that when he was gone it was something for his children, now that he is gone its something for his wife. Teresa was around racing, good for her, maybe she should go and strap into a car and drive it around the track. Teresa has only one claim to fame, and that is she was married to Dale Sr. nothing more nothing less.

If Sr. was still around, Jr. probably wouldn't have cared about 51% as bad as he did with Teresa. He would probably still be racing for DEI next year as well. But that's if that tragedy 6 years ago had never happened.

If only he were still alive...OMG..we would not being going thru all this crap now..as he would be in control and Teresa would just be Dale Sr's wife...."and the nation would not have all this crisis going on right now" Dale Sr would be in control and none of this would be going on...Dale Jr would still be at DEI and I doubt engines would still be blowing,if they were they would figure it out and get it right.....Dale Sr, you left us way to many yrs before your time....you are missed, loved, and Nascar is NOT a better place without you.....RIP Dale Sr, you were the best ...

where in the world did you learn to speak?? i am so glad i don't have to listen to you !!! Teresa is the one who put Jr thru some BS? trust me if Sr was still alive none of this would have happened.

Sorry, but it just wouldn't have happened. Sr. would still be
running the business and Teresa would still be just a bean
counter. The problem with TEI now is that Teresa is trying
to run the business as a bean counter would and that obviously isn't working.

If Dale Earnhardt Sr was still alive, he'd be running DEI the way it should be run, and this whole Teresa/Junior shebang wouldn't have happened.

Learn to spell, please.
