You can sell guns on the internet, but all sales either have to be face to face with the buyer, and the buyer has to be a resident of the same state you are conducting the sale in, or through a licensed dealer in the state the purchaser is in.

Although it is legal for you to ship to a licensed dealer, there are dealers out there who will not recieve them from any but another dealer.

No, not in this case.

You will need to engage the services of a Federal Firearms License holder, a gun dealer.

You can sell them youself (In most places) in what's called a 'face to face' sale, but you cannot sell to people in other states nor can you ship them.

To sell them, you need to make sure you fully understand and know the local, state and federal laws that may apply and you need to take a few security measures due to the fact that you may be advertising guns for sale.

Most gun shops will take consignments. Call around and see who does, take notes and ask their rates. I think my guy takes 15% or some flat rate if less than $200 value. Not a bad deal at all, and it takes a lot of hassle off your Mom.

See if they have a website or they advertise online or on online auction sites. Doing this multiplies the potential buyers by hundreds and gets you the best price possible for your items.

EDIT: You need to determine a ballpark value for each one. We can be pretty helpful here....get a good description of each, most guns have a lot of info on them if you look closely. Describe and post that as questions and a lot of the guestimates you get will give you a starting point in values.

If you have very rare or expensive guns you need to get a dealer that specializes in high priced collectables, and should likely get them insured.

Ebay won't sell any gun related item. It is legal but it involves shipping it to an Federal Firearms Licence holder.

It may be easier to try to consign it to a gun shop

a lot of gun shops will take used weapons, of course at a lower price. but they could point you to collectors, or other resourses. it depends on the site, and many times actually the state that you live in. I know you can't do ebay and take paypal for them- against paypals user agreement. i would think it would be safer to do them locally, but talk to someone at a gun shop- they would know rules and regulations regarding resale of weapons.

Individuals can sell their private guns to people who are legally eligible to buy guns, but you cannot sell them over the web. and outside your state. You must adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, or else you will be in deep hot water.

You can't technically sell them unless the barrel has been leaded out (the barrel is encased or etc) making the gun useless but good for show, other wise you'd need a license!

I think eBay, but I am not sure. Your mother should check to see if they sell them there first before actually selling them.
