I had Sims 2 Seasons installed but it crashed and never worked again. I ended up buying another copy but when I go to install it I get this msg.

Unable to locate required file or required file is corrupted. C:\documents and settings\owner\desktop\autorunGTUI.DLL

When I attempted to run the program from the start menu, I got a message that started with:

some needed files were corrupted during installation.

I don't remember the exact words for the rest of it. I do't know if it is relevant but at the same time I had an illegal relocation error with 32.Dll which I repaired.

Please help!

The file I "repaired" was done with the reccomended fix from Microsoft.

First try and uninstall Sims 2 and all expansions. Then go to My Documents and EA Games then delete the Sims 2 folder if it's still there. Do the same in Program Files. Then install them again. If they still don't work, try a windows update or replace that file you "repaired" with the original from your Windows installation CD.
