I know you are gonna role your eyes, but I am gonna say it anyway... My belief is there is no cut off. A soul is energy and anything, plant or animal that has life force has a soul. My reasons for this are because I have seen animals have spiritual paths and connections with other animal and humans. With plant life, I can feel that energy coming from them (some have called me a tree hugger) and it is a familiar energy.

I think, at least, some animals have a soul or something like it.

I hope God cares about all living creatures, because some animals are better than some humans. And I'll wager some of you KNOW that to be a true statement.

I don;t think there is a " cut off point" everything is suppose to have a soul, or an essence what ever you prefer to call it.
That is just what I believe, God puts a little of him/her self into everything.

All things were created spiritually before they were created physically. All things have what might be defined as a "spirit" or, for some, a "soul."
