Is "god works in mysterious ways" still a big Christian cop out these days?

I don't know the answer to what, where or why so...........

Some may see that as a "cop out" but to be fair, add the remaining part to that sentence which is"His wonders to perform"

Some folks use just the first part because they think it fits their situation, but using the whole sentence in context, God still works in mysterious ways....His wonders to perform. If the event is one of Gods wonders, then it applies, if not, then it does not apply.

no one knows (including atheists) where the universe came from or why. so atheists and theists are on equal ground there.
