we went through a lot of drama last yr. & i think he's afraid of getting hurt again. if we did go out though, we'd have to keep it secret from my friends.
do you think i should ask him out if he's too shy to do it first? also, how should i do it?

OK....Who went through some drama? You or him? Were you both previously an item?
If you want to go out and you both are like each other...why keep it a secret?
You should really sit down and think about what you want before even trying this 'relationship'.

I'm not a guy but if you have to keep it secret something is really wrong here. He probably isn't shy, just gun-shy because of the drama.
I doubt he wants to date you with the friend police and all. Go ahead and ask him if you're looking for more drama. if you want a serious relationship stop asking your friends for permission to date.

First of all. Why do you feel you would need to keep it a secret?
If you really have feelings for this guy, ask him out! But don't try to hide it!
If I where him and you tried tho hide the fact that we are going out from your friends. That would tell me that maybe your ashamed to be seen with me.
If you like him, ask him out! If your friends are really your TRUE friends, they will be cool with it just because they are your real friends!

I think you should ask him. If a girl takes the initiative, guys will appreciate it, especially if he's shy. I was always the girl to sit out on the sidelines, hoping that some guy will notice me. It usually doesn't work unless you're so attractive guys ask you left and right. Most of us aren't taht fortunate. So take that risk! You won't regret it!

Get some tickets to something he'd like to go to:
(concert, gallery, game, movie, fair, exhibit, etc.)
Just tell him you have the tickets & thought about him.
You don't need to explain how you got the tickets.
Arrange to meet him there or on neutral ground.
Pick something where friends won't be around.

well i think you should ask him out if you truly like him but don't do it if you have to keep a secret from you friends you shouldn't have to do that like if it is a problem with your friends you shouldn't ask him out, but if you really like him, then you should talk to your friends about it. If they are really your friends then they will be there for you.

Yes! I'm one of those kind of guys and if the girl I liked knew enough to ask me out, I would be head over heels inside while trying to play it cool on the outside. If you two connect and both of you know it, please - for the sake of us guys who are shy - ask him!

i wouldnt ask him if you have to keep him from your friends... that sounds like a punch in the face to me... i mean if you want to go out with him that you shouldnt be ashamed for whatever reason.. he might seem like hes too dorky or something to let your friends know.. he might get hurt if he is the shy like person... it reallly depends on the situation though.. just take into consideration his feelings.

NO NO NO! Don't ask him out at all! If you have to keep it secret from your friends, you're going to lose your friends for lieing to them! If he's too shy to ask you out, you don't want to be with him anyway! Unless you wanna be the man in the relationship
