My local basic grocery store does not carry it, but they do have it at any specialty grocery store, or organic/natural foods coop or store such as Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. Penzey's has many types of sea salt. If you are in a city, your local regular grocery store probably has it...but ours doesn't. :-( Call around and see who has it. It shouldn't be too hard to find.

Wal Mart. Most major grocery stores will have it. If you don't care about the source of the salt. ( mined or from the Great Salt Lake ) plain salt is also sold at most stores. It usually is with regular salt but Sea Salt may be with natural foods.
Sea salt naturally contains some iodide, that's why it is not added. Goiter was very rare in people near the coast and prevalent further inland leading to the discovery that a lack of Iodine was the cause.

The majority of sea salt does not contain iodine. You can find sea salt in most supermarkets, generally in the health/natural foods section.
It is available in either course or fine granules. The course is used in a salt or spice grinder and the fine can be used in a regular salt shaker.
Iodine is added to chemically altered salt, commonly called table salt.
You do need some iodine in your body, but you can consume it a lot more safely in leafy green vegetables.
Have a good day.

From what I've heard table salt is iodized, but sea salt is usually not... try a specialty store, Papa Joe's, Whole food, Trader Joes, there are a lot of them out there.. I found it in grinders at my local Kroger, and Meijer stores..
