Bereavement care is the care extended to the surviving family members of the deceased to help them in the mourning following the loss of their loved one.

A person extending the care usually provides counseling and educational support to survivors through visits, phone calls, letter contact, or through support groups. The carer may also refer family members and care-giving friends to other medical or professional care if necessary.

Bereavement care is usually provided for at least one year or 13 months.

that's when people are still worried about how somebody is taking their loss. It's like the two Martians reading the newspaper and one of them says " see this earth landed a little spaceship here the other day and didn't even leave a tip. And the other one says don't worry.
