Is it empty? Maybe he is trying to tell you to dump some food in his bowl.

If there have been any changes that could be the cause. If your cat used to eat someplace else it may not be used to the new place. If the bowl is in it's usual place it could be something nearby has changed and your cat is not happy with it. If outside maybe there is a smell your cat doesn't like nearby like if your neighbour has put manure on his garden or if there is a garbage bin nearby. Maybe the bowl is in the sun now that it is getting warmer. If inside maybe something has been moved inside or the cat maybe accidentally gets stepped on while eating there. Maybe you have changed the food and your cat is trying to tell you it wants something else. I personally think it has to do with change and your cat doesn't like it.

I don't know but my cat picks the pieces of cat food up with her paw, takes it out of the dish, drops it on the floor, then eats it. She likes to move her water dish that we keep in the bathroom upstairs. In the process, she spills half of it and we walk in and step in a puddle of water. LMAO

My animals... mainly my cats tend to move their food bowls around. My one cat is very specific of where she wants to eat. If the spot where the food bowl is located is too crouded tor to close to another bowl, she will not eat. Try finding an open space away from other animals if you have any! Hope I helped.

Maybe you could buy the cat a nice cat bed at the pet store. He obviously likes to curl up into a tight cozy space and a bed would be nicer than his cat bowl.

Dont you have a favorite place to snack and to eat. Perhaps there is a nasty smell where you normally keep the bowl or it is hard to reach for the cat.
Why not leave it where the cat likes it?

possibly the showering room smells diverse or weird and wonderful? No offense, yet as quickly as we are pregnant our urine is crammed with hormones and in all possibility pheromones (chemical compounds that set off reactions from animals of an identical species). i understand a cat is each thing yet human, yet possibly (through fact he's male) he's choosing up on those little tricks that there are toddlers on the way and he does not choose to disillusioned you by using being too close to on your 'nesting floor'. or perhaps he purely does not like the scent. attempt putting the bowls someplace else. i do no longer think of that cats might bypass trough the attempt of shifting around there bowls to come back at you. Waking you up on the main unearthly circumstances at evening sounds extra perfect, yet we in no way understand with our kitty's genius minds...can we?

Cause animals are picky of where they eat, my animals do it to, I place their food in their dishes and they always move them to a different spot. It's a way of life for them, you have to get used to it
