Sure they are. They are very popular in certain locations.
Eating gizzards is an acquired taste.
The gizzards of poultry are a popular food throughout the world. Grilled chicken gizzards are sold as street food in South Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan, Philippines, Haiti and the rest of Southeast Asia. Stewed gizzards are eaten as a snack in Portugal, while pickled turkey gizzards are a traditional food in some parts of the Midwestern United States. In the Southern United States, the gizzard is typically served fried, sometimes eaten with hot or honey mustard sauce, In Chicago they are battered and deep fried and serve with fries and sauce.
So enjoy, you are not alone.

Yes....Chicken gizzards are safe to eat as are Chicken livers.

I boil the gizzards about 15 minutes.....drain and cool. Put a cup of flour in a ziploc bag along with seasoned salt and pepper. Add a few gizzards at a time to flour mixture, close bag and shake to coat. Lay on paper towels while heating about 2 inches of cooking oil in a heavy skillet.( I always use cast iron skillets)
Fry gizzards until brown turning once on med. heat. Drain on paper towels.
Enjoy!!!

Gizzards are edible, but it's a matter of personal choice if you like them or not. Mostly, I only use them to add more protein and flavor to chicken stock; then I cut them up for the cat.

Just make sure that they are completely cooked. Boiled or fried are the most popular ways to cook.
