I was wondering when will he be done with "A" school and what happens after that. He signed up for 4 years so what will he be going through? Does everyone get leave during Christmas time bescause we're planning on getting married in December, and by summer I can move to where ever he is stationed at after I finish school.

his rating determines how long A school is. He should get a week or two between Christmas and New year's. HOWEVER there is no guarantee that he will be able to take leave, although 99% of the time it is granted.. just don;t count on both weeks. eh may only get one.

Another thing: his contract is for eight years total. at least 4 is Active Duty but they can and will extend him if they need to.

And yet another: you will NOT get permission to move to his A school location, as he was already there before you get married. If he gets orders to his duty station before you get married, he will have to request an ORDMOD, which usually entails extending at that location at least 12 months, and usually 24, before he will be eligible to move you there on the Navy's dime.

It depends on the school. If hes in for 4 then he should be done pretty quick, so don't get your hopes up to high that he'll have Christmas off. It depends on the base, ifs hes not deployment he may have up to 2 weeks. There is also leave.

You should ask your fiance. Training varies from occupation to occupation, but it is a set term. MY technical training lasted 6 weeks. Some are as long as a year. He should know the length of his training. Unless he fails a section, he should finish at the time he is told.

no not everyone gets leave unless they ask early..Someone has to stand watch..and if you are at sea well...no leave then..Each school and rating has their own school length...He should be able to answer your questions when he finishes his school. Good luck!
