They have no reason to lie......however when you think you already know the answer to something you're usually not open to new ideas.

It's a fun game we play: scientists make an observation. They collect evidence and form some conclusion based on that evidence. Then they experiment and collect more data to either confirm or disprove their conclusion, then the cycle repeats, with the conclusion changing each time to be more and more representative of what actually is going on.
The religious community likes to point out flaws in the conclusions made by scientists, and then they use these flaws to discredit the scientist and their conclusion, and then use that as evidence that the religious explanation must be true. But just because something isn't full doesn't mean it's empty. There are certain things that science hasn't answered yet. A scientific mind understands this and stops there. The religious mind keeps going and tries to fill in the emptiness with assumptions.
And for those who use bible verses to defend religion, that's like using a word to define itself. It just doesn't make sense.

Simple greed. We buy into anything for an answer. We do not like being told that we sin. So, it is easier to accept a lesser answer. And there for get to live like we want with out the burden of sin upon us. The time period for the Darwin theory was when so many wanted to break free from the church. What better way than to create something new. So, that people could say. God does not exist. That we do not need to answer for sin. That we can live as we want. Its the freedom of church that started this tumble down of the theory of evolution. The earth is old. It was no mystery. It made money. Lots of money. Do you think Darwin lived like a pauper after this theory? Geez the man was rolling in money. He became a man of substance. He became important. Do you believe for a second that you were a decendant of a monkey?

How about Millions of Dollars a year. How much do you think a scientist makes a year, more than yours I would venture to say. It all about the almighty dollar. 1Tim. 6:10 For the Love of money is the root of all evil. If we suddenly stopped teaching evolution thousands would be out of work, most of them with a lot more in the bank than we have. Just saw it the other day on discovery, would you believe your tax dollars right now are paying for people to sit and listen for little green men. What a country!

KillerKaramazing asked where:
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also will reject you from being priest for Me;
Because you have forgotten the law of your God,
I also will forget your children.
But IMHO, whitehorse456's use of this passage is slightly out of context. God, through Hosea, is chastising the priests of Israel for not standing up for truth, for allowing the Jews to be led into false beliefs. The reason anyone places their faith in evolution, the big bang theory, and the age of the earth is to rationalize their unwillingness to admit that the universe in all its tremendous majesty and intricacy, from the enormous expanse of space, to the deepest depths of the seas, to the tiniest particles of matter, all reflect the majesty and power of an awesome Creator, not random happenstance. That forces one to ask, "Why did the Creator create us?" Answers for which the Bible, not the microscope or the telescope, is the appropriate tool of inquiry when coupled with a williing mind and an open heart.

Well, if the Universities suddenly decided evolution was wrong, a whole lot of profs would have to go out and be truck drivers for 1/3 the salaries they now draw for having TA's teach all their classes!!!

I have no problem with evolution, once you have an organism with RNA, DNA, a nutritive system and a reproductive mechanism. What I don't believe is the theory of abiogenesis. This theory claims that such an organism developed from random chemical events. You'd have to be a moron without any training in probability theory to accept abiogenisis.

I accept the Theory of Evolution.
But, just to give some balance, and since this is the R&S section, it's not so much that scientists are lying about The history of the Universe and of Life on Earth, they could just be wrong and desperately trying to make that flawed vision of the world work.
But, just to be clear, we did evolve.

Steven Hawkings told you it came from no time and it was enormous in power nothing that he could ever explain.
Funny it says the exact same thing in the Quran 1428 years ago. Did it take them that long to finally pick up a book and read it. How sad.

some people deny the potential of God to counter different people who insist that God exists. common as that. you have faith some thing that somebody instructed you by using fact the reality. you decide on all of us else to have faith that too. some people do no longer. you attempt to push your theory on them, they counter with their very own. it is not too challenging to make certain. no one in the international is acquainted with those solutions for particular. each and every human subculture has made up some tale to describe issues to themselves, and yours is purely yet another tale. there's no longer something incorrect with it if it helps you cope. some components would desire to probable be genuine, yet no you are able to nevertheless ever comprehend that for particular. So what's the component to consistent to argue approximately it? there's no element. have faith despite helps you're making experience of your existence and the international as you comprehend it, and permit all of us else do the comparable.

When a volcano in the ocean erupts and land forms how old is it? What would the carbon dating read?
We Christians believe when the earth was formed it would not read 1 day. We believe God created it mature.
Understand?
So I don't think scientists lie, well some do IE Neadrathal man fakes , Piltdown man, Nebraska man etc etc...
