I actually did a good thing, for myself today in honor of my Birthday. I join a Gym, I brought into a year's membership. I have never worked out in a Gym before. I am so excited. Did you feel this way, when you first join, and how soon before you saw results? Thanks, for responding.

being physically active should make anyone feel better. i feel more engaged in the gym since the atmosphere is 100% focused on sweating and staying fit. my mp3 player also keeps me pumped up while working out. i love doing everything in the gym. cardio, weight lifting, yoga, etc etc I LOVE IT ALL! if you combine a good work out schedule and diet, you'll see results in as little as a week (also depending on where you're at now). you'll also see an improvement on endurance. dont forget to stretch before and after your work out =]

Happy Birthday!!!!! & great gift to yourself. I joined the gym back in July and before that I have never set foot into the gym and no where near being athletic. Honestly it took me a while to get to know the gym and the different machines. The first two weeks were more like explore and discover, so hence it might take several weeks for you to start seeing result BUT HANG IN THERE..... my workout at the beginning was nothing compare to my current workout. IT doesn't matter what level of fitness you are at currently, all that mater is that you are IMPROVING and you will start noticing it. However, I am working with a personal trainer once a week and found this to be very helpful. You'll love the new you!!! =)

Good job! (Also, Happy Birthday.) Joining a gym really changed my life. I actually joined because my doctor recommended it to me for high blood pressure. I had been meaning to do it for a while, but needed that extra push.

I definitely was excited to take advantage of all the equiptment/facilities/classes they had to offer. I recommend getting a personal trainer for at least the first few sessions to help you plan out a weekly routine that will help you achieve your goals. It can be a little intimidating at first when you walk in and see all the weights, machines, treadmills, cycles, etc.

As for results, you will FEEL the benefits of exercise immediately during the first workout as the body releases the endorphins and starts burning calories. Stick with it and be consistent. Tiny changes in your body will occur after each and every workout. After a few weeks, you should see some visible results. It won't be a complete transformation yet (that will take a few months at least), but it will be enough to give you a confidence boost.

Good luck!

I am one of those people who can work out only at the. It can be hard to get there (feeling lazy sometimes) but once im there i dont want to leave and time flies by so fast - the more i work out the more energy i have.
I was very excited when i just signed up and was going to the gym every day - physical results came slowly but self confidence and mental health gets so much better pretty soon.
Congrats on wise decision!!!

i signed up for a year long membership like 8 months ago...at first you get so excited and try to go there a lot...then you dont care about it as much...unless there is a hot personal trainer that you rally like,it will be hard to stay motivated after a little while...i dont see any results in my body..i've always been fit,and same right now...getting a membership doesnt make you fit automatically, you actually have to work...work hard..but good luck! if you go there at least 4 days a week and have a decent work out, you should see results in a month already
