You are right. Unfortunately, you are speaking to spiritually blind people. They don't want to hear this.

It is die-hard religious fanatics like you who make a lot of people turn away from religion and become atheists.
If you ever stopped to think once of how your seemingly superiour stance above the rest of us and slandering against people who do not believe in the same as you do, then you will find that a lot of people are readily able to sit down and talk with you about different faiths and opinions.
The way it is now, you're looking more to spread hate in the world than doing anything to stop it. So I ask you: is your religion (indeed, ALL religions) only a form of oppression, or have you really gone out of your way to disregard what you were taught in school and your parents?
But per your question, I think you are confusing and contradicting yourself, based just on your first sentence alone.
If I do not believe in any god, then I can't believe in any devil or satan, simply because one cannot exist without the other - like the darkness and the light.
It also nullifies the whole "If you were satan" hypothetical, since I can't very well be someone to whom I do not believe in.
And a thank you to Parallax for providing me with an article idea for Science Aust.

For that idea to work you have to believe that Satan influences all decisions while god sits on his holy hind end. Here's a question for you. Since the victors right history how do we know that God wasn't the evil jealous one and that Satan really did create everything good in the world?

You said that if I don't believe in "god", then I must not believe in the devil." Then you ask me what I think the devil really wants. Why do you Fundies grasp at straws and look so foolish doing it? I will type slowly now, so you can understand. Here goes....IF I don't believe in "satan" (which I don't), then WHY would I bother myself to care what satan (in whom I DON'T believe) wants???? Get it?

you're right, if i were satan then i would want people to think that i didn't exist so they would do what i wanted them to do and they'd think it was all their choosing. however, this is all saying if i was satan, and if satan existed.
because we don't believe in god, then we obviously don't believe in satan, so did you seriously think u'd get the answers you're looking for here? (i hate to put it like that, but do you see my point? ..... nvm, you'll probably refuse to even consider it; after all, it's contredicting what you believe, so it must be satan's work right? oops!* )

My Belief system does not include the Devil. Good and evil are man made concepts. Nature kills and consumes at willl as well as replenishes and growing new life from death, no right or wring, just a circle.

If you don't believe in Ahura Mazda, that's exactly what Ahriman wants. Also by not believing the Jedi are real, you are totally playing into Darth Vader's hands.
There are thousands of gods you understand are not real - the only one you think is real is the one your parents told you was real. coincidence?
Read The God Delusion, understand what religion is and how it works, and be freed from it forever.

Oh...could you manage to get any more circular in your reasoning?
There is no devil so he doesn't "want" anything.
