Welcome home!

The Spear of Destiny is the name given to the spear that was used to pierce Jesus after He was crucified on the cross. John 19:34 records, “…one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear…” Because of the contact between the spear and Jesus’ blood, all sorts of myths and legends have been attached to the spear. The legend goes that whomever possesses the “spear of destiny” has great power and authority – the ability to essentially control one’s own destiny. According to legend, the “spear of destiny” was rediscovered during the crusades, and has since passed from one powerful ruler to the next. This entire idea is completely unbiblical. The Bible never again refers the spear that pierced Jesus after the Roman soldier used it. The Bible nowhere even hints that the spear would have any power whatsoever. No object has any power to control destiny. That power is God’s alone.

It's supposedly the spear that Jesus was stabbed with before the centurions removed Him from the cross. It's not present in all Gospels and I wouldn't take it's existence seriously. The Jews of ancient Canaan were cast down for worshiping Holy artifacts like the staff of Moses and Mount Sinai. Catholics and other people with leanings towards the Macabre often site these items (i.e. the spear of destiny, pieces of the true cross, hands of saints, the Shroud of Turin) as being imbued with special powers and properties. They are interesting and inspiring but they are just toys. By even labeling a spearhead "the Spear of Destiny" we offer it more power than it deserves, even if it is real.

The spear is said to be the spear that pierced the side of Jesus as he hung on the cross dying, according to legend, it belonged to a Roman named Longinus. It is said his eyesight was failing on the blood from the spear cured his near blindness (why a near blind man would have been in the Roman army is another mystery). It is believed the spear was in Vienna when old Adolph rose to power and he demanded it be seized and for some reason he kept in St Katherines church in Nuremberg. The spear was confiscated by American troops and 2 hours later, Hitler killed himself.Where that spear is now is not known.
It is doubtful whether he had the actual spear. Like many relics there are many fakes. There are also many conspiracy theories that surround the spear.
I hope this helps.

Angel Eyes has it right. The so-called 'Spear of Destiny' was actually displayed in public up until the time of the Second World War. Hitler stole it, believing it would make him invincible. After it failed to do so it got lost, and its current whereabouts are a matter of controversy. There are currently several in existence that are all alleged to be the genuine article. Almost certainly none of them are, much like the splinters of the cross worldwide which when added together would make 40 crosses.
