This may sound strange, but what usually helps me is to put some soap on it. Liquid soap or soap from a soap bar are both fine. Just after you've applied the soap it will continue to itch, perhaps itch even a bit more, but after a minute or too -- don't scratch it in the mean time! -- the itch will be gone!

HI To answer your question you need pure or 99% pure Aloe Vera gel you can get a tube from health food stores don't get Aloe Vera that's not pure or it can burn from the additives.
It is very soothing and takes the itch away at once you need to apply every 2 hrs for the first day , after that it will heal up and go away. Aloe Vera is also excellent for sunburn and burns from all things like the stove it seems to take the burn right out .It is an instant healer a miracle in a tube. It also can heal rashes and scars faster and the scars will be less noticeable. I have been useing Aloe Vera for years now and it has helped me in many different ways . Also Lavender oil or tea tree oil put on your mosquito bites will help with the itch to . I grew up in New Jersey where we have the biggest mosquitos in the world so I know where your comming from .

As long as the bite isn't open, I'd agree with the Windex or a glass cleaner that has ammonia. If you have some after-bite, then use it. Ammonia is the main ingredient in after-bite so if you use the windex instead it'll be basically the same thing. You could try numbing it with a piece of ice or slapping it like popping a towel type slap (really make it sting and it will hurt for a bit) WILL make it stop for the meantime.

here's my answer neither for over 3 yr.s ago
as I was sodimized, throat slit several places, stab wounds, & held in a bathroom by a complete stranger who was on crack-cocain/alcohol. Didn't know him just, just knocked on what I thought was a friend's door & he pulled me into his bathroom. He turn out to be from Ireland, here on a 6 mnth
Visa, but stayed 2 1/2 yrs. He is now in jail.
That's why I haven't had a date since. The Headline Front pg. of newspaper said "Lucky Lady to Be Alive!"

You can put a coat of clear nail Polish on it and this will keep the oxygen from getting to it. It will sting for a few seconds then it will stop and won't itch.

For temporary relief put something cold on the bite. For a more permanent solution put some vinegar or apple cider on it, it will help.
