These people are SO intrusive. I am from the midwest where people are friendly, NOT all in your business, asking you too personal questions and they don't even know you like that.

These people are VERY nosy, they ask you (a stranger to them) very personal questions, and they are rude and whiny.

The young adults (18-30yrs) ESPECIALLY are rude and whiny.

This is very shocking to me. It seems that everyone is mad at their lives.

Please explain this phenomena. I have never seen such a pervasive array of brats in my life.

Uh, I live in the SF Bay Area, and I'm not whiney, nosey, or rude.

There is a cultural difference in what is considered proper to talk about with strangers (and, yes, people who feel every person they meet should instantly be treated as though you're both in an encounter group are wrong).

Rude?

Not most of the people I know.

Whiney? Not more so than everyone else I've known (and I've lived other places, and met people from a lot of other places).

I think it's rude to make bogus conclusions from limited evidence.

Did you meet everyone who lives in the SF Bay Area?

Then you're not in a position to come to nasty conclusions about us.

I suppose that's considered polite where you come from?

Cause they are all nerds and socially akward from working in cubicles all day. Their idea of fun are small dive bars that suck, stupid hippy festivals and wine. Buch of hicks that don't know it. I think the term is hipster. Bay area people are just that, most have never left that area or seen the world. If it wasn't for SF's tourism and berkleys snotty schools and pho everywhere nobody would live there. If you are not glued to a iphone in a starbucks all day the bay is no place to play.

If you don't like answering their questions, tell them you don't want to discuss it. Then walk away.
Maybe you will meet some more polite people later on.

We only appear that way to those who are judgemental.

But, you wouldn't be able to notice that.
