You mean to realize that the God of the Bible was a genocidal murderer? Or a sadistic being who condemns all who don't believe in him (even if they never heard of him) to fry like bacon for all eternity?
I was about 40 when I realized it.

There is no magical age at which a person realizes who God is. Most never do.

In order to find out who God is you have to seek Him with all your heart.
May I suggest a book by A.W.Tozer called "The Knowledge of the Holy"? It's a classic in Christian literature and it's a study of the attributes of God. Invaluable.

Its incredible..my son..who is only 2 years old..woke up the other day..and told me he loves God....he sees books and without any pictures on them tell me they are about Jesus..we have very basically talked about the Gospel in the house and watched some movies...but never told him to say these things..he just spontaniously will tell me he loves or wants God...Glory to God...obviously it can be very young...

Generally by the time a person is 18-20 he/she will "realize" that what "god" is.....is non-existent.

I really don't know, it can come at all ages... the realisation that the voice you hear if you listen is, in fact, your own mind playing tricks on you.
