A medium sized mutt will most likely have the longest lifespan. Less health issues than purebreds. Try the local shelter and save a dog!!

Dogs who are very small, live longer. General rule, bigger the dog, the shorter the life. Poodles, Chihuahua's generally live to 15-17 years old. While Labs, Great Danes and Boxers, between 9-11 years.

I think Poodles are great dogs. They usuallly live pretty long. My mom's poodle was 17 when we had to put him down. Mine was about 14. But, I have 2 14 year old mutts now. 10 years old is pretty old, you know. When they get terribly old, they are in such arthritic pain. I just lost my 15 year old dog 2 mos ago. Good luck with your next pup!!!

well, big dogs (such as golden retrievers and german shepherds) live till around 12.
really big dogs (ex. great danes) live a shorter life (like 10 years)
smaller dogs can live up to 14 or more years old.
thats what I heard at least.
and regardless their lifespan, you should take very good care of it.

Smaller dogs tend to have a longer life span. Cockapoo's live pretty long. We had one and it lived until it was 19 years old.
