Hiya, Jags should normally be done at 10 weeks then at 12 weeks - as long as the pup is healthy. It is considered safe to take a pup to the beach (where the salt water has washed the sand) to have a little run about, or if u have a garden where no other dogs can get to. I wouldn't be too concerned about the sickness after the worming, this could be for any number of reasons, as you just got him on Thursday he will still be missing mum etc, plus new food, smells etc, keep an eye on his fluids, but it is important to worm him, I would recommend a 3 day course of worming powder for a young pup. If you can go into the vets personally that would be best.
It would prob be a good idea to make an appointment at the vets just to get a health check as routine. Hope this helps you, and u have lots of happy times with your pup.

Well JABS should be done once at 8 weeks then again at 12 then yearly after. The receptionist is obviously giving out wrong advice.

I would just ring again and make an appointment to see the vet and if she asks what for inform her that she isnt able to give out diagnosis. If she wont make you an appointment I would suggest you go elsewhere.

Oh and worming should be done every 3 months...again ask your vet he will know when and how much to give.

As a breeder/ owner i can tell you that the 1st dose should be done any time from 8wks onwards (the sooner the better), the 2nd should be done 2-3wks after. I don't know wot planet that receptionist woz on but it wasn't earth!
I would either insist on speaking to the vet or make an appointment and discuss with him/her. Make sure you tell them about the advise given by receptionist cos if she's misinformed you how many other people has she done this to?? She could cause a lot of problems, she needs to be told!

JABS
talk to the vet
where did you get the worming tablets, they shouldnt have made him sick, the breeder would have wormed him b 4 you picked him up,
12 weeks is 3 months.

Depending on what manufacturer of vaccines your vet uses, depends on when they are given.
Most give them (earliest) 8wks of age, the 2nd one being no earlier than 12wks of age.

It sounds to me that the receptionist you spoke to has got confused!
Your pup is already a few months old, so therefore at 8wks of age can have his first vaccine.
I'd ring back and insist on an appointment if the vets are too busy to talk to you on the phone.

domestic dogs choose vaccinated from 8 weeks of age jointly with 2 injections 2 weeks aside. The direction will cost around £30 dependoing on the vets. it extremely is important to get those vaccinations to avert illnesses like parvo that can kill youthful dogs.
