My dog was neutered yesterday. He did really well. All I was wondering is if there would be a problem with putting a topical cream on the stitches to help him feel better. The one I want to use is animal friendly. Im just wondering if there is a reason I shouldn't

Unless it is irritated, I would suggest leaving it be. You do not want to disturb the scabbing since this is in itself a healing process. The scabs may be a little itchy but if you disturb them or remove/ weaken them with a cream you could be inviting infection to get a grip.

Not needed unless the vet said to. Many of those creams can actually collect dirt (they are goopy/sticky) and then what you have done is gotten dirt into the incision. Many of those creams are recommended for scrapes, not incisions.

Just leave it alone! It will heal up very quickly. Keep the area clean, but no ointments unless instructed by the vet!

I wouldn't the stitches need to be left alone, most creams state not to put on deep wounds, day old stitches are equal to a deep wound, that is why they state no bathing the dog with soap. If he chews at them he may need a e-collar.

I'd leave it alone.. The stitches will heal fine.. if he needed cream on the incision, the vet would have prescribed some.

Some topical creams are meant for minor cuts and scrapes and are not intended for surgury incisions.

Leave the incision alone. You could just possibly cause an infection. It will heal just fine and it actually isn't bothering your dog that much.

Ask you vet. There could be a reason why it would interfere with healing of the surgery site.

creams and oinments can cause dirt to attach and actually cause an infection it is best to just let it heal naturally

He doesn't need it, I'd leave it alone if I were you.
