Sweetie, you need to understand that certain behaviors are unacceptable. Smoking is one. You don't need me to preach to you, you know it's bad, but what you don't think about is how you smell. And it's more like an ashtray. Try taking a deep breath of one of those. I'm an X-10 yrs smoke free.

Foster home, brings to mind a family that has opened up their hearts and home to someone who needs help. Are you ungrateful? Each family has a set of rules, guidelines, morals, standards that they live by. It helps the family stay cohesive and happy. Everyone knows what the limits are and what is expected. So with the said, consider this; you have a place to live, that houses you, feeds you, and provides the basic needs. You need to appreciate what you have at the moment, and work toward what you want in life. Work smart, be good to yourself (and smoking isn't being good to yourself-silly). You have every opportunity ahead of you, but you are the only one to make it a good journey or a rough one.

Hugs from Minnesota!

Not one person in the whole world is perfect. And people who are kind hearted enough to take in foster kids are not going to be appalled at the fact that you smoke. In fact they probably expect it. Kids who come from a broken home almost always have at least a few issues, ( Hell ,kids from a stable home have issues also ) Whether it be a substance abuse problem or insecurities, or just flat out depression. All are understandable and the foster paren'ts arent there to judge you, only to help you grow up is a stable environment, so that you can have a chance to be a productive citizen in
society. My advice to you you would be to just be yourself !!!
they will like you just the way that you are.

Hun, the foster parents know ur not perfect, and you come from a troubled back ground. Don't be so nervous. Most people want to help. Not judge.

Spend time with them. Get to know them and let them get to know you. I'm sure they'll like you. You can be respectful by not smoking where they can see you.
