Many people have told me "if there is no Creator then there isn't any purpose to life!!"
And so they believe there must be a God.
However....let's assume their is a God. But what Created God? If nothing created god, then by this logic...GOD HAS NO PURPOSE.

So somewhere along the line of creation, the original creator HAS NO PURPOSE.
And Christianity assumes God is perfect, meaning HAVING NO PURPOSE IS PERFECT.
So...what's wrong with having no purpose if your image of perfection has no purpose?
In the end...having a god defeats the purpose lol. You are either saying we have no purpose, or we have a purpose but that's a bad (imperfect) thing to have.

So...why don't we just leave god out of it and make OUR OWN purpose in life?

Oh hey Jedi Maiden.
I've been kind of busy lately.
And decided I didn't want to get another account deleted =)
So i kind of moved out of Y!A.
I occasionally come back though.
This place is often a little too filed with the normal responses, really just insults lobbed back and forth.
So I try to ask different questions when i do, and only to see how ppl respond.

Because you need God to even exist. Without God you don't even breathe..God is the creator, not the created. God is the "Perpetually existing One". Whether you believe or not, that is how it is. Go ahead and "make your own purpose in life." God allows this because it is he who gave you free will to choose your own purpose.

24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
( Proverbs 1:24 - 30)

First of all, you need to understand that God is GOD!
God is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
He always was, is and will always be.
God is bigger than our concepts. In other words we cannot fit God into our thinking, because He is above all things.

For I know the plans I have for you says God
Plans for good and not for evil
Plans to give you a future and a hope.

Seriously that makes alot of sense. I've always stuck by the purely scientific reasoning towards christianity- if you can't prove it in some form of matter, then there's a high chance it does not exist.
plus in my opinion Christianity is the cause of all hatred and violence in the world (look at the wars for the past 300 years for example).
generally speaking life has no purpose, but it's still pretty fun!!

The fact of being created is not what causes "purpose"
Being uncreated is not purposelessness, but rather He is his own purpose.
But it is randomness that is purposeless. Have you not heard of existentialism? Have you not read Camus?
Existence through random chance "roll of the dice" is what gave rise to existentialism, deconstructionism, dadaism, and nihilism. Even if you don't believe in God, you must realize that these inevitable conclusions of the metaphysics of randomness really suck.

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and who have been called according to his purpose.

This is Gods purpose. :o)

No! You're wrong. Being a self righteous lefty like yourself always talk yourself out of believing in your own creator. Self righteous have no logic intuitive, therefore making up logical statements that make no sense. You have no faith, the only faith you have is you drigs that carry you through the day. What a waste of human creation.

Enjoy playing your word games, my friend. If there is a God, it would be advisable for you to try to know Him. If there isn't, we believers are deceived and you are smarter than we are. I know there is a God, but I don't expect you to believe just because I do. A little sincere searching would go a long way toward revealing truth to you. Word games are just mental masturbation.

Your premise "If nothing created god..." then "GOD HAS NO PURPOSE" is a false dichotomy which does not logically work. GOD being "created" and GOD "having" a purpose are mutually exclusive.

GOD was not created.
What GOD's purpose is, I cannot say that I know. Does HE have a purpose? I believe that HE does.

GOD bless

We were created for one purpose, and that was to have a relationship with the Creator because we love Him and nothing else. Not what He can do for us, but because He just is!

Lets leave Ford out of it and make our own cars??
Makes about as much sense. God created us and we need to know our creator and obey him..
Kind of gets at your ego to have to obey someone??
