My recipe calls for flavored gelatin and unflavored gelatin. What are these? Can I just buy a box of Jell-O for the flavored gelatin? I found unflavored gelatine, but don't know if it's the same as unflavored gelatin. Please help,,,,my son wants to "cook" for us tonight!

The only difference is the letter "e." The British and Canadians spell it with the "e" and the Americans don't.

Gelatin(e) is a protein made from the bones, hooves, tendons, ligaments, and hides of slaughtered animals.

They're the same thing, just different ways to spell it, like grey and gray. Flavered geletin is the same as jell-o, just get the flavor it suggests if the recipe calls for a specific one, or just get the one you like.

There is no difference between both of them...it is just the way it is written, but is the same product.
