So...someone just included this in their answer to one of my question; I asked whether a Christian parent would allow their child to read books that do not portray Christianity very well.

"If you're a Satanist, atheist, and that's how you want to raise your kids, then that's your choice, but as Christians we are obligated to protect our kids from what we think is wrong."

My thoughts on this--WTF!

Atheists, this is quite a revelation. Apparently, because we're not Christians, we're not obligated to protect our children.

o.O

Man, that is just D-U-M-B, dumb.

Apparently that person wasn't even smart enough to read your question fully. That's kinda typical of fundamentalists, I find. They don 't listen to your statement or question, then just assume that what you're saying is something about satanism or murdering baby puppies or dancing naked in public.

I think your original question is a good one. I wish I had seen it when you first posted it. I think that response is from a narrow minded, slightly dim-witted fundamentalist who can't read or is just too lazy to read carefully.

That kinds of mindless judgementalism embarrasses as a Christian.

Christians are so arrogant when it comes to morality. We're right kids, and better - anyone who adheres to satanism (note the small 's' here Christians) or atheism is wrong and immoral. And no questions asked.

I sense a terrible schism in the fabric of society when people start thinking like this.

Not all Christians think like that.

A Christian parent who would allow their child to read a Satanic book, or listen to satanic music (rap, modern rock, hip-hop,etc), or watch satanic media (95% of it), or read satanic books and magazines (95%), is a parent I would not really care to meet.
