I'm talking, of course, about 'original sin'. If he's still punishing the newly born, that surely is proof that Adam and Eve are not yet forgiven, in my opinion.
Thanks, pancitcanton, for the question idea :)

this is my answer to the original question.
but God doesn't punish new born children for the original sin.
it is only when we start believing the original sin, that we have to ask for forgiveness.
and of cours God will alway forgive us.
the first thing that you have to look at is, what was the "original sin"?
was it eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge?
or was it, wanting to be equal to God, which led to eating the fruit?
or was it listening to the snake, who in fact called God a liar.
or was it believing the snake in the first place?
we all listen to people call God a liar, and yet is that a sin?
I don't think so.
but when we start believing that God is a liar, and acting on it.

Everything to do with the beginning of time can be debated and controversial, but I might have just a little info that may help you. Adam and Eve were deceived by Satan. Who seems to be the root of all fleshy and system of things today. God was devoted to Adam and Eve and asked them to be fruitful and fill the land. After making the freewill of choice to not listen to God after he told them specifically to enjoy all the land and all the fruit but to not eat from the one tree of knowledge( I myself beleive the knowledge refers to todays good bad and ugly issues of life and our everyday choices of freewill) We inherited ill will in marriages between man and wife, and hostility between father, son & daughter, our children 'bruise us in the head' and 'we bruise them in the heel' (we are both in agreeance that getting hit in the heel hurts much less than getting hit in head, the concept' children driving us crazy'), the man also inherited work; having to cultivate for rest of life slaving for the same fruits of earth that he was told to not eat from, fields consist of bread that grows form the ground and to the ground we return.
They inherited death..this is the wages of sin. That is why we are so torn when we lose a loved one..humans were not created to die it was never intended..therefore it is the most devastating act that can happen to aperson. Because of this, I like to think of a bread pan, If you have a perfect bread pan you will make smooth uniform bread, but b/c the pan is dented now due to the sin of Adam and Eve & all that we inherited ALL humans are imperfect now.Through Jesus the perfect 'bread pan' we also can be perfect again.
Before Jesus there were sacrificial offerrings. These were the offerrings that were from the heart. If harvest years was great and brought a few apples that is not a sacrifice considering God provides all that sustains life. So if your heart was true you would not think twice about sacraficing your great offerrings for a great return... fastest of all the oxen and the best of all your produce. This is how you were judged according to your actions and the sacrficies you made.
Adam & Eve were forgiven.
Good thing that is not the way today huh?
If you think about how Jesus came, he volunteered to come to earth..a 'perfect' replacement for what WAS perfect. Therefore the only viable choice was another perfect soul. This allows the hope for resurection for who ever believes.
Therefore resulting in forgiveness today without sacraficial offerrings.

Adam and EVe are different from us they were not born into sin and disease and corruption.
They were made perfect just as satan was. They didn't make a mistake they chose to sin knowing full well it was wrong.
Satan was also a creation and chose to ruin the world for humans with his desire for sex and to be a man on earth that ruled other men. He thought in getting humans to sin God would turn his back on them and Satan could have them as toys. He likes to torture men and have them worship him.
We are free from the original sin because of the sacrifice of Jesus christ. So the only sins we are punished for are our own.

You now, I believe you're quite wrong. The simple truth we tend to overlook is that all the Lord ask of us is the fact that we repent our sin. That's all. Adam and Eve didn't have the chance to repent. They were death scared of God that they both fled when they realized they had wronged Him. How can God forgive them when they just fled and didn't repent and ask for forgiveness. The truth of the matter is that they didn't even gave God the chance. The chance for Him to show them that sin can be repented. That's all. And the chance for him to show them that it's as easy as pie to repent and ask for forgiveness. That's all. Good enough, yes?

God did forgive Adam and Eve, but since they sinned they had to pay the consequences. Like, if a child is being naughty and not listening to their parents they need to be punished, and of course the parents will forgive the child, jsut like God forgave them.

They beat a 6 month old baby with a stick

Your question makes no sense. There is nothing in the Bible that indicates Adam and Eve were not forgiven, and the concept of "original sin" is Roman Catholic and also not in the Bible.

You still don't get it.
God doesn't 'punish' anyone for anything. Sin is the result of a free will decision. Nothing can change the past. But God HAS provided a way around that problem, IF you are willing to accept it. Again, it is YOUR CHOICE.
