I am planning on going on a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas November 23-26 which is Thanksgiving weekend.
It goes to two islands in the Bahamas.
The price is $324 for the smallest cabin.
It's through Royal Caribbean.
I have only been on one cruise when I was 15, which was 7 years ago, and I am planning on going with my boyfriend, my best friend, her sister, and their boyfriends (there will be 6 of us.)
I am the only one who has been on a cruise, and the one I went on was a 10 day one through Holland America with my family but since it was so long ago, I can't really remember much...
Anyone cruise with Royal Caribbean before?
The ship's name is Sovereign of the Seas.
Is it worth the money?

Whether any cruise is worth the money is up to the consumer. I will tell you the two cruise ships which sail from Florida to the Bahamas on 3 night cruises the Sovereign and the Majesty are two of the oldest ships in the RCCL fleet. While they have both been redone recently and had new appointments added and new features, they still lack some of the features of the larger ships found in all the cruise lines. A cruise during the Thanksgiving holiday is significantly more expensive than some other times of the year but that is when many people have the time for the cruise.

I was able to get a passenger a 4 night cruise in December to Key West and the Bahamas on RCCL in a Deluxe Oceanview room for less than the price you have mentioned.

Just as a note the Sovereign and the Majesty have very nicely appointed and newly remodeled staterooms. But the staterooms are 110 sq feet. This is compared to 185 sq feet for an inside stateroom on a Carnival cruise ship. So these RCCL staterooms live up to their motto "get out there".

But all being said, any cruise is great, and when you get back, only you can say whether your trip was worth the money spent.

Have a great time.

Compare it to what it would cost you to book a nice hotel, the amount of money you would spend on food & drinks and entertainment. Don't compare price with budget hotels, fast food restaurants or neighborhood bars, a ship is more upscale than those places. Usually, a cruise is less expensive unless you go for upscale cabins & suites, an all-inclusive ship (drinks) or the top of the line cruise ships. Royal Caribbean is the middle of the road and its like shore-side places, some good some bad. Been on them 5-6 times I think, only one ship had food that was a bit boring and repetitious. Found Carnival to have better food lately, depending on what you like. Been on top of the line cruises, and their food wasn't much different of better than Royal Caribbean or other ships of moderate prices.

I have been on more than 15 cruises and about half have been on Royal Caribbean. I have several cruises booked with them now for this year and next. They are my favorite cruise line but I have also been on Norwegian, Princess and Celebrity.

In my view RC has some of the best ships of any line and a great mixture of passengers of all ages, especially on cruises to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. The Sovereign is one of RC's older ships and it does not have balcony cabins (except for in suites) like RC's newer ships. But it has many of the same features as the newer ships. You can look at its features at this web link:

In my opinion it is worth the money and bear in mind that you have chosen to cruise on a holiday and so the price may be higher than other weeks of the year.

I've been on two Royal Caribbean cruises and I look at it like it's the cheapest way to get to several destinations without driving. I've been on the Bahamas cruise to Coco Cay and Nassau. Excellent stops and great times. I think it's your best way to go. Best of luck planning!

Royal Caribbean has been having a lot of Norovirus on all of their ships in the past month. This is very severe stomach and intestinal distress - basically everything pours out of both ends.

I would wait or choose another cruise line.

RC is truely a blast and since your older you can have more fun...

It is alittle expensive, but i will in the future only sail with RC.

Um.. really, you will like it, when with friends it is a blast, A good thing about RC is the varity of things to do for all age groups. Your in the age group that you can have a super blast. Bar, etc....

You wont spend that much time in the room so dont worry about that.

Um.. really i personally find it worth the money every year, RC is just a blast to travel on and im sure that you will have a fun time.

I loved my Royal Carribean cruise. No complaints from me. Their cruises are a bit more sophisticated than the loud Carnival cruises.
