When things go wrong, if they have no belief in him why blame him and say it's his fault why bad things happen?.... it seems like many use God as out of convenience.... let me know your views on this?

Excellent point!

Some seem to inadvertently use the "blame game," when something adverse happens in their lives, rather than accepting it at face value or taking the blame themselves.

God is handy to blame because He doesn't defend Himself on this level.

The sad thing is that when something good happens to the same people, they don't THANK God for it, they call it "luck."

Go figure ...

I've never heard an atheist or agnostic blame God when in a life and death situation. Can you cite an example?

Maybe you mean people who say the less friendly version of "gosh darn it" when faced with such a situation, but they are not really talking to God or blaming God, it is only a figure of speech to express frustration. Because it is so ubiquitous in our language, that is often the first phrase that comes to mind.

There Are plenty of "Emergency room Christians" when things go wrong they call out to him and whenever the circumstance has passed and everythings ok they quickly forget who that the hand of God was on them. But we are not called to judge people and there will forever be people looking for someone or something to blame .

People do it when things go right as well.
In sports, if someone is having a good event, someone who has no belief in god might say "the gods are smiling on him today" for example.
To me I think everybody uses god out of convenience.
If you can't explain something then, then say it was God. People can't be bothered to work out what is morally right or wrong for themselves, so they turn to the words of God.
Nobody needs God, he is just there to make things easier when it suits.

It has been that way long before time.
They do not realize that it is the devil that comes to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10)
It is the devil that robs homes, and breaks up families, who takes away what the people (who don't believe in God) treasure most. They are not armed against the devil and his schemes of temptations.
When one has Faith and Believes in the Lord and reads his or her Bible daily is armed with God's everlasting Word. They are then able to discern right from wrong and are armed. The Bible is translucent to the Believer of Jesus Christ. [The way to the Father is through Jesus Christ.]

Matthew 12:29
"Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man's house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can rob his house.

and again,

Mark 3:27
In fact, no one can enter a strong man's house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can rob his house.

A strong man is a man who has Faith, and Belief in the Lord. He knows the Lords Words and arms himself against the devil. He lives his life righteously.

Those that do not believe, leave themselves open to the devil and the wicked ways of the world.

-God Bless.

I don't blame god ,personally I am an atheist all the time. I do see the question come up in religious discussion (like this) after a disaster of some kind. I don't think that this question constitutes belief for the atheist, but is instead questioning the belief system of the theist.

I never blame a god for anything, we have to take responsibility for our own mistakes, then help others of misfortune, god has no role in modern society, the name god has just become part of the vocabulary, used with no significant meaning, just to emphasise the phrase.

I keep seeing people state this but haven't yet seen examples of an atheist blaming god.

People who do not believe in god do not "blame him and say it's his fault why bad things happen". You're just making that up.
