There are 5 of us bridesmaids and we are splitting the cost, the maid of honor is the brides sister who decided to hold it at a restaurant.The price per person was 22.50, then the other day she tells us with tax and tip it comes to 37.40!! plus decorations and a gift and favors, today she tells me that we each owe 443$ ! Is it just me or is this insane?

The jump is a bit disturbing unless there is a mandatory gratuity built in because X number of people are coming but 15 dollars is a big jump. I would ask how we got to the 443 before I said okay. Is the maid of honor not contributing?

It's not you. She's insane. The bride's sister should have set a budget and explained what it was before she went ahead and booked everything. I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I would only pay what you are able to pay, and let the planner deal with the overages. YOU are not going to be responsible for a cancellation of a bridal shower, she is, that is, if she can't come up with the money. Good luck sweetie!

That is a ridiculous amount of money to spend for this type of event! Cancel the restaurant and offer to host it at your home. Ask the other bridesmaids to help prepare a simple meal (just do a brunch or luncheon).

Right then you should have called the other girls and all canceled. Then planned a small but decent shower at one of ya'lls homes.

That girl is nuts. Tell her since she planned it, she can pay for it. If she wanted you all to chip in then she should have included you all in the planning. She needs to get the hell over herself!
