My two cats won't get along...

One is six months old... The other is three years old. The younger one is nice to the old one, but it's the opposite with the older one. It growls when she sees or even hears the younger one. They are both the same gender, females...

What do I do???

If you want them to get along with each other, you should start by slowly introducing them. Put them on opposite sides of the door, or put one in a cage and put the other one near the cage. This is a good way for cats to smell, hear, and see each other without tearing the other one's face off.

let them battle it out unless it gets too severe- then seperate for a period of time and try again if not is the older one fixed if not do so she should mellow out abit and the other suggetion is to get the younger one another one close to her age and they will play together and the other older cat will possibly start to have maternal instincts and begin to warm up to both of them in a motherly way

Sometimes this happens with my aunt's cat when the same gender of cat comes near my aunt's cat. He's was being very protective of his turf. Sometimes this also happens with whatever cat came first. Email me at soaringfalcon_95@yahoo.com for your answer.

How long have you had them? Sometimes it takes a while for cats to make peace with each other, but they will usually learn to co-exist eventually.
