If you make from grapes, you run into a lot of obstacles. You need to find a source for the grapes, and that isn't easy. Most vineyards commit the entire crop to wineries. Next, you'll need a crusher, and they aren't cheap. If there's a wine making store in your area, you can rent from them. You'll also need a source for yeast, primary fermentation vats, a press, oak barrels, a cool place with a stable temperature to store the wine while it ferments. The list goes on and on.

You're best bet is to buy a wine kit that includes grape concentrate and all equipment you'll need. Here's the results of a search on wine making.

I recommend this book, also available here as a PDF.

It is far too complicated to describe everything here, but reading this book online or in print will give you an idea what is involved. I have never tried a kit, but they seem to me sort of like buying cake mix in a box and comparing it to making a cake from scratch. Anyway, I would rent the major equipment you need like a press and crusher. I would buy the other supplies like fermenters and small equipment (hoses, funnels, etc.)

Good luck.

Find a local wine making/homebrewing shop. They will help you get all the supplies you need and give you all the advice you need to make and bottle wine and/or beer.

The real advantage to working with a local shop is that you have someone there who can answer your quesions when you run into problems.
