Plasma, fluid between cells, and lymph are all considered EXTRAcellular fluids because they are OUTSIDE of the cell.

SAMI, anything that is not INSIDE cells is considered extracellular fluid; that's the definition. Plasma is NOT a tissue, it's a FLUID component of blood and is not inside any cells. Lymph may be in its own circuit, but it's still not inside any cells; therefore it is considered extracellular.

Blood is a tissue and plasma is a tissue fluid not extra cellular fluid.
Lymph is a closed circuit ciirculating fluid and is not extracellular fluid.
