Americans, do you like being the bird-feeder?

I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it is as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.
But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue.
Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table...everywhere!
Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket.
And other birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.
After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio.Soon, the back yard was like it used to be...quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.
Now let's see..... our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen.
Then the illegal came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child's 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak English. Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to 'press one' to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than 'Old Glory' are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.
Just my opinion, but maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder. If you agree, pass it on; if not, continue cleaning up the poop!

It's like this in the UK too,if not worse.
Illegal immigrants,if caught,are allowed to choose to stay or not,depending on how long they have been here.
They're given free cars or bus passes if they don't drive.
Our medical care is free for everyone,but in the last 5 years,i've not seen 1 clear English speaking doctor. I'm NOT being racist,but when they're telling you something important about your health (i'm diabetic),i have a hard time understanding them.

I mean,i'm not against housing or taking in people who have escaped from their country for good reasons - i know i'd like some other countries help if i ever had to escape England because it was so deadly to live here,or people coming here who are commited to working and not sponging off the Government just because they can,but the majority just take advantage.

Here's the problem with your question... I didn't have a choice before, let alone know that I ever was the bird feeder. But contacting all my Representatives, and telling them what I WANT is changing that all around. So what are you rally doing. And there's more to it than taking down the bird feeder. It's abolishing the NAFTA Trade Agreement. And that's what you need to focus on. Telling your Representatives that WE the American PEOPLE do not want NAFTA or It's expansion that BUSH is asking them to pass for him. Even our Congress members are saying it needs to be abolished. That's what caused the Bird feeder to go up in the first place. If you want it to come down for good. Than tell your Reps NAFTA has to be done away with. Otherwise if it passes No One will be here illegally. Do a google search on the NAFTA Trade Agreement. 122 pages long. But it says it all.

Great analogy. Now let me ask you this question. When you were enjoying watching the birds (based on what your analogy said) you were ok. Also why didn't you stop feeding the birds before the problem grew out of control? Was it because perhaps you still enjoyed watching those birds or thought the problem wouldn't get that bad?Basically what I am trying to say is that while people enjoyed the work illegal immigrants did for little pay it was ok.When they saw that more and more were coming into this country they still said it was ok. Yet you expect it all to be fixed so easily? Comeon now be realistic.

Great analogy. Yes, I'm tired of being the birdfeeder. Those pesky birds are also flying around with diseases we had almost eradicated as well. Definitely passing on your analogy to others.
As for cleaning up the poop, let those come around our farms. They aren't welcome at either. And we have let our bird-feeder suppliers know we aren't giving them our votes if they continue to put out those bird-feeders.

I love that analogy....But you forgot one thing,once you removed the bird feeder,the B.C.L.U.(Bird Civil Liberties Union) are now going to sue you for infringing on the rights of those birds to be able to eat for free and destroy your house.The B.C.L.U. has now labeled you a racist towards those birds and now are threatening to boycott you.
Ontop of that,you now have this fat bloated bird holding press conferences in front of your house demanding justice for those poor birds and is organizing a bird parade to protest you.
The birds have also removed your flag ,stepped on it and burned it,all the while cheering and repalced it with one of their own.

But your analogy is 100% right on

I have never thought about it that way before, but very good I like it! Not all birds take advantage of the feeders though, it's the ones that do that piss me off.

Yeah I love bird feeding.
But the dammnn rodents keep on emptying the feeder before any bird gets the chance...
